500 Series vs. Statement?

A priceless puppy, worth far more than Statement

I like the way you think. Hopefully my wife will agree. Maybe she’ll be enraptured with the dog that she won’t notice a few black monoliths in the living room!

This is the bit about Statement I’ve struggled to understand (keeping in mind I’ll never be in Statement territory so this is just curiosity on my part)

To keep to the source first mantra, what on earth level of source would be paired with Statement-level amplification?

Wow that is an incredible list of kit!

I’m keen to know too.

It’s certainly true that he is no longer the dealer, servicing I am not sure.

Must resist. Seems like a great deal!

Absolutely, we don’t want the wrath of @crispyduck and @Neilb1906

Is an S1 on the horizon Mango?

Nah. Just teasing the op. Need a new home to house the statement first.

The February issue of Hi-Fi News has a review of the DS Audio Grand Master ‘optical’ pick-up.
This cartridge and its power supplies comes in at just under £50K. And you still need a turntable and arm.

Hi Mitch

Although mightily impressed with the system and future additions, I wouldn’t mind a more detailed view of your drinks cabinet - through the blur I could just about make out a couple of Glenfiddichs and what might be a Stolichnaya Ohranj?

Except for the vodka next to the speaker on the floor, everything else is scotch. I believe there are about 250 varieties, with over 90% being singe malts. They go exceptionally well with good music!

I can confirm that.

I have not spotted myself though. Some bottles look like ardbeg, but the photos are not clear enough to be sure.

I’m out of Ardbeg. I’m not a huge fan of the heavily peated expressions, though I do have several Islays, including some Bunnahabhains, Bowmores, Lagavulins, and Caol Isla. I drift more toward the Speysides and Highlands, generally; however, when enjoying a good cigar, a peated or heavily sherried whisky hits the spot.

I think they are part of the acoustic room treatment!

LOL…consuming them does seem to make everything just a bit better.

You don’t look like Brad Pitt as well do you :grinning:
