What do you mean?
I think the pricing strategy in the high end market is value based and not related to manufacturing cost. It has to do with the value of existing gear, the relative improvement that is delivered, the convenience, luxury and positive feeling that the upgrade delivers. A cheap component done right can therefore be very expensive. Pharma companies often do the same in relation to health benefits - until the patent runs out.
The brand behind the cables need to earn a lot of money. This is why we have businesses.
I do not know if this is the power cable or the gold rca cable. 4 meters is rca cost the same as a Porsche 911. ![]()
I am laughing as well as the Børresen guys.
A price anchoring strategy in my view. Probably not a good idea to buy the most expensive Ansuz product ![]()
Naim is very different in my view. There seems to be a much tighter relationship between manufacturing, quality and price point. You have more trust that price is related to engineering and production rather than marketing.
Has anyone digged into “powering” a D series Ansuz cable with anything else than a Ansuz switch or power box? This not possible to find anything about the voltage. LS cables are powered with 14v whereas interconnect cables would be powered by a lower voltage. Would a SMPS do the job as nicely as a Ansuz box?
Sorry not powering but polarizing of course.
I am also curious to hear an answer to this question. I am not entirely sure but I think they are using 14v. I would use batteries (like Audioquest do, albeit they use 72V ) and definitely not a smps and also not a powerbank.
Another thing that would help is a comparison of a Ansuz D2 signal cable without/with connected Powerbox.
Hey guys I need some advice. I have Ansuz C2 speaker cable and I am thinking to upgrade it and I have opportunity to buy used Diamond D1 the old D series speaker cables. I am not sure what to expect are they better or I will make a mistake. I cannot listen them in my system sadly.. opinions ?
In my experience current mid level Ansuz products perform better than one level higher of the previous generation. For example the Sparkz C3 bests the previous gen TC3 according to my dealer. If you’d have A2 speakz it could be an upgrade but in this case, I would pass. Hope that helps.
Sounds like at best a sideways move. The only ansuz device I have updated was a mainz 8 to Mainz d1 I think just d at the time. I try to stay away from a new series, my guess is that upgrade should be from one series then jumping the next and maybe upgrading to the series released, so IE cables going from maybe d1 to c3. But the price has to be right and you have to listen first.

Thanks. I am not sure too. I was hoping that someone have tested these 2 models but it was long shot. ![]()
Hey all, I am getting a good deal on a 1m c3 powerchord which i want to use between A3 Mainz8 and a Luxman Integrated. The Mainz8 is connected to mains by 3m A3. Do you think that’s reasonable? Or waste of money without a C3 between mains and Mainz8?
Here’s a recent comparison of different Ansuz power cables (subtitles available). Best value seems the A3, where AGD recommends at least 2m for their power cable lengths. atb, SP https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WSEzbPBORVY
Thanks for sharing. I find it difficult to discern the sound differences mentioned when listening through headphones. Some of the insights that have already been mentioned here in the forum are confirmed by the commentators. For example, that the cable leading to the power distributor makes the biggest difference. Or that power distributors should be placed on racks or platforms rather than directly on the floor. The video also features some exciting test recordings that sound really good. Particularly when it comes to the cables from the top-of-the-range series, very few people will be able to afford such an upgrade.
