Ansuz Thread

What do you mean?

I think the pricing strategy in the high end market is value based and not related to manufacturing cost. It has to do with the value of existing gear, the relative improvement that is delivered, the convenience, luxury and positive feeling that the upgrade delivers. A cheap component done right can therefore be very expensive. Pharma companies often do the same in relation to health benefits - until the patent runs out.

The brand behind the cables need to earn a lot of money. This is why we have businesses.

I do not know if this is the power cable or the gold rca cable. 4 meters is rca cost the same as a Porsche 911.

I am laughing as well as the Børresen guys.

A price anchoring strategy in my view. Probably not a good idea to buy the most expensive Ansuz product :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Naim is very different in my view. There seems to be a much tighter relationship between manufacturing, quality and price point. You have more trust that price is related to engineering and production rather than marketing.

Has anyone digged into “powering” a D series Ansuz cable with anything else than a Ansuz switch or power box? This not possible to find anything about the voltage. LS cables are powered with 14v whereas interconnect cables would be powered by a lower voltage. Would a SMPS do the job as nicely as a Ansuz box?

Sorry not powering but polarizing of course.

I am also curious to hear an answer to this question. I am not entirely sure but I think they are using 14v. I would use batteries (like Audioquest do, albeit they use 72V ) and definitely not a smps and also not a powerbank.

Another thing that would help is a comparison of a Ansuz D2 signal cable without/with connected Powerbox.
