Ansuz Thread

Hi @What_Are_You_To_Me, I wondered if you had reached an opinion on the XLRs? I am using Ansuz A speaker cables and like them a lot, but am using a cheap pair of Mark Grant XLR cables between my 222 and 250, so am wondering whether to take the plunge on something more expensive.

Hi there, I’m yet to pick them up from the person in buying them off. Unfortunately bank holiday plans have got in the way. I’ll let you know as soon as I have them and set up :+1:

Quick update - I’m picking the cables up this Sunday morning so I’ll post initial reflections here sometime in the afternoon. I’m very excited and now also very impatient waiting for Sunday!!!

Great - look forward to hearing about it!

I had the Axxess speaker cables for over a year and was really happy with them. Very balanced and dynamic cable. Just recently upgraded to A2 speakz. The Axxess are amazing value in comparison

I’ve had my eyes on Axxess. Their connector housing looks bit rough like 3D printed. Is it?

Looking forward to @What_Are_You_To_Me updates today

My updates will be tomorrow as that’s when I pick up the XLR cables :+1: C3 power cable arriving on Tuesday according to the tracking info.

Re Axxess cables, from the pictures above, and having owned a series 1 Ansuz power cable, they look like they are the series 1 X range rebranded as Axxess. If that’s correct, they are indeed very good value.

Edit - the series 1 housing looks plastic, but it’s not. It’s still metal.

Ah yes it’s Saturday today :see_no_evil:

Yes I’m guessing choice of materials where it matters the least is where they cut on Axxess series compared to Ansuz. It might very well be the Ansuz X-series cable in the Axxess line up.

I’ve had X2 series cables, RCA, power, digital and now have one set of Axxess RCA connection and they aren’t even close to the X2 zeries in my opinion. Still work OK for the price, which is much lower, but not the quality or the X2.

Yes they are not metal and look and feel like a 3d printing material. Not too bad though

After a few weeks waiting to pick these up, I have just got home after a few hours in the car each way to buy them off a very nice guy who had them listed on hifi for sale.

I listened to the first 4 tracks from my reference Richard Ashcroft album using my existing and very good quality Vertere cables. The system was sounding very good indeed. However, after plugging these in, I am pretty gob smacked. There is so much more presence, detail and overall roundness to the sound that was not there before.

The gentlemen I purchased them from suggested I listen to them without the dtc cables plugged into my switch for a few days initially to allow me to compare the sound when I do have them set-up. I’m tempted to plug them in straight away, but I am going to be patient for once and do as he suggested. He also mentioned the benefit of the dtc cables can take a good 24 hours to come on song.

At the moment, I am completely mesmerised by the impact of the cables without them! I now have the following set-up:

Ansuz C2 Power Distributor (Ansuz X2 power cable)
Ansuz XTC Switch (Titan Audio power cable)
Roon Nucleus (Ansuz X2 ethernet cable, stock power supply)
Linn Selekt Dual Mono Out (Ansuz X2 power cord and X2 ethernet cable)
Naim NAP 350s (Ansuz X2 power cords and D2 XLRs from the Linn Selekt)
Kudos Titan 505s (Ansuz A2 speaker cable)

So…one cable short of an Ansuz full loom. However, this will be corrected on Tuesday when the second hand C3 power cable arrives  I plan to put this on my Linn Selekt and move the existing X2 cable used on it to the XTC power switch.

My next, and final step for the foreseeable future, will be to buy the HiFi unit I have had my eye on for a while (see posts above) to give the speakers some more space. That will also allow me to correct some cable ‘no, no’s’ I am currently struggling to avoid such as the speaker cables touching the wall, and to get the C2 power distributor level on a rack, rather than on its side down behind the existing unit as it currently is. I know this is less than ideal.

Longer term, I will look to upgrade the switch to one of the higher models to get the full benefit of the dtc cables. I think I am then finally (yes finally) done! Famous last words that have been said before more than once…

Hi, what are the cables you just bought ?
I have seen Ansuz XLR A3 second hand. Do you have Ansuz XLR?

See my post above which has pictures of them - Ansuz D2 XLR. I just responded to you in the other thread on this with some thoughts :+1:

Really interesting steps forward! Congratulations!

Currently I am also experimenting a different ‘digital supply chain’: instead of an Innuos PhoenixNet switch (with Ansuz A2 & AQ Vodka LAN cabling), the new Ansuz X-TC3 switch with Ansuz D2 and Designacable Ethernet cables. Expected a more or less lateral adjustment🤔, but no, this is really another and again very nice step forward😃!
Placement in the room, natural sound and emotion of voices and also detailing are immediately noticeable, all without sacrificing PRAT (which was my biggest fear :winking_face_with_tongue:).
The addition of an active DTC connection is also extraordinary! I hope you will also be positively amazed. Enjoy your upgrades :+1:t3:

That is great to hear! They really are onto something with their approach. I’ve been good so far and resisted the temptation to plug the dtc cables in…I am going to be patient and wait for tomorrow :innocent: That way I can bore everyone with more superlatives for a further day :joy:

Thanks for sharing your experience, very exciting. Your system is very similar to mine, you’re only missing 332/300.
Curiously, I didn’t get a single reply to my post on my AGD experience. :frowning: Glad people are responding to yours. :+1:

So, I plugged the dtc cables in before I went to bed last night and left the system on to get them warmed up. Listening to music now and it’s simply astonishing. It’s taken things to a whole other level. Massively reduced noise floor, even more presence in the room and the tightest, crispest bass I think I’ve heard. Ansuz really know their stuff, this is major league impressive.

I would love to get more of the D range but the cost is too prohibitive. These D2 cables retailed at close to £9000 but I was lucky to get them for £2500 in pristine condition second hand. Got to love a real bargain! My C3 power cord also arrives today. That retails at £3500 and I have paid £1700 second hand. The guy has only had it a few months but he’s so impressed he’s purchased the D3!!! Money to burn. Literally!!!

It’s arrived! This is a very high quality power cord. It is indeed a large box and it is indeed on the heavy side. However, like the X2 cable it is flexible and can be gently bent into the desired shape for your system. I’m currently doing some house chores listening to the D2 dtc cables. I want to get used to their sound signature before plugging this in later this afternoon. I’m tempted to put it on my XTC switch given that powers the dtc cables. It will be interesting to try that versus it on the Linn Selekt.
