Not really, perhaps the best you can afford ? 15% or so of the hardware costs ?
Glad you like the sound, enjoy! Later you can upgrade to a proper preamp (I have an SPL Director mk2), it will really enhance the sound of the ATCs…
Regarding the cable, I use Wireword Electra 7 and XLR Eclipse 8, no complaints!
The Mogami are very good; I have one for my phono preamp and XLR preamp. For something better, there are Wireworld speakers, for example, but they are more expensive…
No, not another Shunyata power cords please.
The silly Rooster.

Glad you liked this combination - enjoy your home trial !
I use Mogami 2549 microphone cable with my Atom HE and active PMCs. It was recommended to me by another Forum member and seems very good. It came from Designacable and cost about £60 complete with Neutrik XLR connectors. The speakers are connected to the mains with Naim Powerline Lites. From what I understand, active speakers don’t benefit in the same way as passives from exotic - read uber expensive - cables.
People will suggest the NSS222 but unless you plan to add an NPX300 power supply there is little if anything to be gained over the Atom HE.
Sorry to spoil the fun, but the Rooster doesn’t drink at all. Only some Lysergic acid diethylamide in my coffee each morning, prescribed by my doctor.
I beg to disagree @HungryHalibut the ATC’s are all analog, the power amps are class A/B No DSP no digital stuff.
I can recommend Shunyata Gamma . Both XLR’s and their NR Power cords. They are very very good especially at their reasonable price point. FWIW I use Cardas Clear XLR’s and Shunyata Theta NR power cords.
The Mogami 2549 XLR’s were my pick also HH, from DesignaCable
I will probably get a couple of good mains cables from Mark Grant; I’ve had lots of cables from him in the past and been very impressed
I have at last decided on my system; Atom HE plus ATC 19a’s as it seems like a match made in heaven to me
I will not be looking to change the HE for a 222 or anything else as I’m so enamoured with the sound I now have
I’m confused. I didn’t even mention the ATCs and am fully aware that they are all analogue.
I’d concur with the Designacable recommendation, but you might find the speakers are or can be supplied with XLR cables from ATC at no extra cost. My active 40s were, I just needed to choose the length. And I’d run them with stock mains cables for a while before even thinking about changing them.
FWIW, ATC recommend auditioning cables blindfold!

When I switched to balanced interconnects for our big system, the start point was Mogami 2549 from Designacable.
I then auditioned a number of posh balanced XLR cables from manufacturers including Townshend, Transparent, Atlas, Siltech and a few others available in the UK.
I didn’t find a posh cable for £1,000 that bettered the Mogami 2549 other than the Townshend. The £4,000 very posh ones were noticeably better but at that price?!!!
They are superb and amazing value.
Hope this helps, BF
That’s very good to know BF
I will order the Mogami 2549 XLR’s from DesignaCable
Oops my mistake
I understand that you are conquered with the HE and the ATC and keep them as long as you can but know that you can improve the sound just by changing the preamp…
I got the HE at the same time as the 272/xpsdr with a 250DR, the HE has a very good headphone output but the output to the amp I preferred the 272/xpsdr, then I bought the SPL and the improvement was great… the ATCs are superb speakers, they will reproduce the slightest change you make!
Try the Powerblack mains cables from Custom HiFi Cables (Sean Jacobs). They outperform many cables many times their price, including Powerlines in my opinion.
As indeed should everything in a side-by-side, competitive comparison. That’s effectively what I did prior to ordering an NPX300 for my NSC222 and it left absolutely no doubt as to the obvious benefits of so doing. (Blanket over the equipment so that I could not see whether the NPX was connected or not ![]()
