Anyone tried the Balance Control on their Atom HE headphone outputs , obviously only from the Naim App. Question previously asked in;

Does the Atom HE have headphone balance?

Hi, As the subject says, does the Atom HE have balance controls for the headphone stage? I can see the app allows for the pre-amp stage to be balanced. I normally use Roon to deliver the stream, so DSP is available to increase one side to cope with a small amount of hearing loss; my right ear is -1.6db across all frequencies. Thanks in advance, Daz

However, no-one from Naim appears to have responded……

From HH’s reply to my query, Balance Control appears to function correctly through the HE’s XLR outputs, as used for HH’s active speakers…..

A couple of previous posts, both from users rather than Naim staff say that balance is pre-out only.

Welcome to the forum! Unfortunately only the pre-amp out has a balance setting. Not when listening to headphone.

Well, it kind of saves me the need for any digital and manual contortions required for a factory reset for the time being - fortunately I don’t currently suffer from any hearing issues that would require headphone balance adjustment.

Hi @HungryHalibut @Osiris , thanks for the message. I can confirm Atom HE does not have left/right balance control when in headphone mode. The balance control in the app adjusts pre-amp outputs only.

Balanced is currently reserved for speakers only, so that a small left/right listening position can be compensated. Headphones are central.

It sounds like a few people would like independent pre-amp and headphone balance settings.
