Av Options now making interconnects for Naim

Have you tried the cables that Naim make for this purpose? A quick search on the usual mart for NAA00100248 will return a pretty cost affective result. Maybe the seller can ship to you.

I’m aware of it, yeah. What’s unclear is if it’s any better (or even worse) than my current custom RCA-to-XLR cable that I’m using via XLR-to-RCA adapters. They’re priced fairly reasonably so I could always give them a shot without too much of a hit to the wallet if all else fails.

Good luck. Hopefully they will ship out - they’re really very special cables.

Well it’s been 4 days and no reply from AV Options. This is the second time I’ve emailed them (sent a question about a year ago for a different query) and once again complete silence.

Fantastic customer service. Some companies just don’t want your money.

They did it twice to me too… puzzling

I find that rather baffling. I’ve dealt with AV Options for years, and never had issues getting responses to email inquiries. Ignoring customer emails is just not how Chris and Nick roll. Something seems amiss.

I’ve never had a problem with AVO. Always prompt responses. I’d make sure you have the correct email address or contact info.

I’ve dealt with AV Options (and its previous incarnation Naim North American) since 2001, and never had any issues.

No chance of that as they don’t give you the option to email them directly via your own inbox as they only offer submitting a message via their website.

Also, I used a different email address this time in case my other one was blocked for some reason. No dice.

Super frustrating as they are the only company it seems to make this specific cable off-the-shelf aside from Naim.

This maddening insistence to use bizarre and obscure connection configurations from Naim is enough to make me want to sell my 300DR for a power amp that works with any preamp. And no, I have to desire to get a Naim preamp.

Very baffling. I just emailed them the other day and had a response with 4 hours.

I’ve never used their website to communicate. I’ve always emailed Chris directly at chriswest@avoptions.com

Same, plus ā€˜nickd’ at the same domain (i.e. Chris’ partner). Email them both. That’s what i always do.

Taake,

We just checked our spam folder and our in box for the website contact page - nothing from you.

We are receiving emails everyday. Even with the spam filters set high 15-20 spam emails sneak thru every week. Spam has exploded over the last few years.

Naim do not allow vendors to post direct contact email on the forum but have you tried using a Gmail or Apple email in our contact form? Smaller email providers may be on Gray or Black list.

Hi Chris, thanks for replying here. I used a Gmail account both times. I tried sending an email to chriswest@avopitions.com that was posted above just now but it came back invalid.

I’ll post my question here that hopefully you can answer:

I tried ordering a pair of Signal interconnects on your webstore (New Naim pre to old Naim 300DR XLR) but the only countries listed for delivery are the US, Canada and the UK. Is it possible to get these shipped here to Australia? I will be using a non-Naim pre amp with XLR out for use with my 300DR and your cables are the only off-the-shelf options aside from Naim’s own.

Cheers.

That’s because the email address to him is invalid. ā€˜opitions’ should be ā€˜options’. (not your fault)

Always double czech spelling! LOL

Taake - avoptions only has one ā€œiā€ in it … almost there - please try again  It’s against the forum rules to discuss your request here.

Just want to give props to @ChrisW for his help and professionalism in sorting things out.

Now to play the waiting game for my Signal cables to arrive in a few weeks…

If only Focal Naim America could learn from his fine example.
