Indulge me on this one guys but this actual night was the last concert I attended with the late and wonderful Mrs M and we were in the front row. When Imelda moved stage right for the first take of the bridge we were in eye contact with her.

Robert Fripp & Torah & Some Bloke - Slave To The Rhythm

Close, oh so close to the magnificent original.

And apologies to Some Bloke, but I don’t recognise you.

I think the other geezer is Simon Darlow songwriter and producer for Toyah - also coincidentally the co-writer of the song Slave to the Rhythm.

Normally they record their Sunday Lunch tapes live, but this is clearly mimed to a recording. Sometimes Toyah wears some ‘interesting’ outfits.

Brilliant stuff - and only 4 strings on Ricky’s guitar. Great keys by Kate as well.

Travelling between Islamabad and Skardu in the northern region of Pakistan, it is always preferable to fly, but quite often weather conditions preclude that option. Consequently, there have been four occasions when I have had the ‘joy’ of travelling (24 hours in each direction) on the Karakoram Highway, each time passing sections similar to that shown in the video. Usually the tyres on the vehicles have seen better days (now slicks). It can be quite scary to look over the edge to see the raging River Indus 500 feet below… and last year’s tour bus!

Roll on a couple of years and the gang decided that they wanted to play live, so they chose Castlefest in the Netherlands and gathered a Film crew and sound recordists

The result, Lifa, a live album and YouTube video
