It’s shame an indie jazz/soul label hasn’t attracted MJ although it’s clear she very much wants control of her own content and career. Her covers of Nina Simone (when under Sony/Epic IIRC) are very good.
It’s not just the power for me but her articulation is superb, as attested and profiled by Elizabeth on TCV channel. I don’t bother with other review channels as, to me, they’re all pygmies in Elizabeth’s world and simply freeloading/piggybacking on MJ/PMJ content.
I see MJ is now involved in an all-female (?) production of Jesus Christ Superstar in the US although I’m unclear what this involves vis any intention to go on-stage?
