Looks like there is no insulation between the speaker connectors and the MDF. That seems a bit odd - particularly if the MDF ever gets a little damp.

I enjoy all of Mark’s solo albums - fantastic storytelling and melodic guitar.
I think I first heard this on the Anne Nightingale radio 1 Sunday evening show after the top 40 - probably 1986 - between the Duran Duran and other pop nuggets.
I was too young for John Peel, although Anne was subtly subversive enough.
