I have to admit, that I sometimes find the radio garden website fascinating. I love that you just spin the globe and listen in on just about any radio station wherever it might be in the world.
Yes indeed. Not to mention the possibilities to tune in to live performances as well. I am literally 3 days only starting to explore this with some favourite stations from UK, France and Germany.
“All Classical” Portland, OR USA, gets my vote. Discovered it on vacation on FM at the beach at Manzanita. Always a refreshing change (when they are not playing packaged programs).
Nick
I found it on URL https://allclassical-ice.streamguys.com/ac96kmp3
for those looking (mp3/96).
A nice Festive Concert of Carols was on air.
Radu Lupu.
Try France Inter Paris - FIP. They play lots of independent high quality music of all genres.
I discovered Radio Garden a few weeks ago - amazing just how many stations appear worldwide!
JB Radio2 has become a bit of a nuisance recently.
They are on then they are off.
Flac stream is up then it’s down.
You can see much of the history on this thread.
Now they are experimenting - a year or so back they had a flac stream so why need to experiment?
Tend not listen to them any more.
Been listening to SuperStereo (Chile) Internet radio pop stations. They have had 4 channels (but adding 2 more). They are broadcasting in flac and claimed hi-res. Certainly SQ is good.
SuperStereo 1 - eighties (Chile) (flac)
SuperStereo 2 - oldies (Chile) (flac)
SuperStereo 3 - disco/pop (Chile) (flac)
SuperStereo 4 - easy listening (Chile) (flac) - maybe “not heavy” would be better description.
They are broadcasting in 16/96, 16/48, 16/96 and 16/96 respectively. The planned 24/96 on SuperStereo 1 is not evident at present.
I was listening to the Oldies on SuperStereo 2 and it must be best SQ I have heard for these old tracks. They must have some mean equipment.
Chile - it is all in English except station logo. To think the BBC once led the world, not any more!
P.S. Amongst my 260 stations I now have 28 in flac.
WQXR from New York. All classical, with live concerts most evenings, Met Opera live on Saturdays from Dec-May. Wonderful hosts, and just a little bit of local NYC news and weather, which is fun for the sake of color and hearing how other folks are doing. There are mornings where I forget I am listening to a weather report from 1000 miles away and am surprised when I walk outside!
I have it on my system so I better give it another spin.
Recently I have been listening to the WRTI Jazz and WRTI Classical stations that @opus alerted me to (and I am 3000 miles away).
Thank you for this. I have added SuperStereo 4 to my presets!

Alpha Boys’ School Radio.
For all fans of Jamaican Jazz, Reggae, Dub and Ska, this is just the perfect radio station to listen to.
Available on yer actual hi-fi via a station search in the Naim app, and on yer lappy and mobile tings via the Soundgarden app.
Nuff respect.
Earlier I posted about SuperStereo channels, last night SS2 was broadcasting in 16/48 but today it is 16/44.1. I will monitor it.
SuperStereo 3 is down today (26/01/2022) but back the next day.
Love it !! 56 kbps has never sounded so good
Two more flac stations
Jazz - City Radio - jazz, smooth jazz and crossover jazz (Chile) (flac)
Good SQ in flac 16/48

Pop - SuperStereo 6 - instrumental & orchestrations (Chile) (flac)
Another SuperStereo station in 16/48 flac

What’s with all these good quality Chile-based stations?
I discovered XWave recently. Fantastic for Post Punk and European independent music ranging from dance to punk and quite a lot in between.
I have discovered quite a lot of music unknown to me here.
I recommend dipping your toes in, you might not find something you like straight away, but something unexpected will come along.

Further to the above.
The Bauer/PlanetRadio group are indicating their streams will cease working shortly. These appear to include:-
Absolute
Kiss
Magic (the UK station not the French one)
Planet
Hits
Greatest Hits Radio
Scala
JazzFM
Wave 105.
There are around 144 stations/channels listed on their website (including premium and local channels) but is unclear if all will be affected - I expect so. See https://planetradio dot co dot uk/stations/
These stations are only available in the UK.
For the future, there are other stations with similar content and better SQ available.
