The English contractor takes out his tape, measures up, and puts in a bid for £900.
The Welsh contractor does similar, and bids £700
The official then asks the Irish contractor what his bid is.
The Irishman leans over and whispers in the official’s ear ‘£2,700’.
‘What? That’s much more than the other two, and you didn’t even measure up…how come?!’
Still whispering ‘Well, £1000 for you and £1000 for me, and we get the Welsh guy to do the work!’
‘Done’, says the official!
