Just to sidetrack slightly. Excuse me.

My Adobe Creative Cloud (Lightroom and Photoshop) account costs me 9.99 Euros per month. I have just been charged 15.12 Euros this month !! Anybody else noticed this crazy hike in price ?

Hate to say it, but if you don’t want to be upset again, you’ll need a better box. 20 years ago I was using concrete nest boxes, then I made my own out of 28mm hardwood, with metal plates on both sides of the hole. I never want to be upset filming nest boxes.

Yes, we have been doing some reading, we are on the case. Lesson learnt.

Getting very big now. Male has no feathers on head.

Now they sleep like adults. Instead of the usual chicks sitting outwardly in a circle with their beaks resting on the nest, they tuck their heads in under their wings and huddle together. Black & white due to watching them in pitch black via infrared. Love watching this nature unfold. They’ll be gone soon.

It’s one in the morning and there’s a couple of birds singing their hearts out outside. Bit early for the usual dawn chorus. Merlin reckoned they were a blue jay and a gray catbird.

Little did I know that my final picture of them was all tucked up last night. It was a group hug to wish each other a great life. A fitting picture. All 5 fledged this morning into the beautiful world. Good luck my friends, I already miss you :sob:

A Red-wing blackbird harassing the Egret till she is forced to leave the pond. These guys are fearless and will challenge anybody; hawks, herons and even eagles.

Do you pay monthly, and has your annual renewal date just passed ? If so it could well be this.

Yep. That’s it.
I pay monthly and the hike in price is substantial. It appears those paying yearly have no increase ! Monthly suits my finances better though !
I read that the price has remained steady for quite a number of years, so maybe I can forgive them, especially with the implementation of the new AI stuff.
I was very recently doing some processing of some photos, and to be honest, I’m blown away by what Lightroom can do nowadays - miles better than just a couple of years ago. It’s still well worth the money.

Common Nighthawk

Camouflaged so well to blend into daytime roosts along tree branches, with his brown-gray tones, looking just like an extra bump from a distance. After the second exposure he lost all interest and closed his eyes and nothing could take him out of his comfort zone.

I’ve been experimenting with a Trail camera I got for fathers day at the weekend. Positioning the camera on a tripod is a bit hit and miss, but managed to pick a few bird. I suspect this is a young hedge sparrow.

Looks more like a young Robin to me. Nice idea and you could catch something very interesting if you are lucky.
