Good-day everybody. I am new to this forum. I am interested in adding a XPS to my CDX. I would like some advice on compatible Brundy cable. There seems to be few variant.
The XPS should come with a Burndy cable for connection to the CDX. However, if we ignore the earlier inferior grey ones, then there are essentially two to look out for; the original black XPS Burndy or the improved S-XPS Burndy. The latter can easily be identified as it has S-XPS typed on the direction collar. Just be sure you are getting a genuine Naim Burndy cable as non-Naim types are not at all recommended and may, at best, give operational issues, and at worst may cause damage to the connected equipment.
Hi Richard Thank you for all the info. Very helpful. My CDX appears to have 3 extra pins on them. Do I need to take that into consideration?
It’s fine. some of the pin sockets are for the link plug connection. All you need is a genuine XPS or S-XPS Burndy cable.
Thanks Richard.
Bear in mind the CDX is no longer serviceable , so ploughing money into upgrades for it may be a short term solution
