Chris Rea was one of my first gigs ever, in 1985. Always preferred his records from the eighties. RIP.
No offence meant but I always chuckle when I see this - and I hope that Chris wasnât offended too.
Unique talent. As a guitarist he had a really cool take on the very many lovely things that can be done with a Stratocaster, especially with a slide. As a song writer he wrote some absolute corkers in so many different styles. âOn the beachâ, â Fool if you think itâs overâ, Stainsby Girlsâ will stick forever with me. Thanks so much Chris!
Thereâs a brilliant episode of Would I Lie To You with Bob Mortimer claiming his friend Chris Rea ran him a hot bath and cracked a raw egg into it (to improve the experience). I can take or leave WILTY but every single episode with Bob Mortimer in it is comedy gold.
I wonât say whether it was a lie or a truth.
Funny enough just watched that very episode last night Bob is so convincing in every story he tells you canât help falling into the trap he sets to con us all. And how many times have the most far fetched stories been true. Happy new year mate
Hi mate was just saying to 1giant leap just watched that episode last night and nearly posted it myself Happy new year mate
Thank you, it was seeing you and @1GiantLeapâs post about the episode that prompted me to post the link.
All the best for the New Year.
