So glad to hear things are going well for you, Dan, and that your energy levels are up and that you are able to spend time with your kids. Continuing to root for you from Winnipeg.

@Dan_M How are you doing Dan?

I’ve not posted for a while but have kept an eye on how you’re doing and just wanted to say what an inspiration you’ve been and continue to be.
It has certainly helped me put things in perspective. I had part of my lung removed three months ago for cancer, luckily stage one and they got it all. Have another op on my thyroid next week that was found accidentally in a PET scan. I found it tough to deal with especially on top of losing my job at the same time, but your attitude and bravery really has helped keep me on the rails.

I do wish you all the very best,
Mark

Sending along a good thought Mark that you can find some piece of mind while going through the illness and recovery process.

I had open a cardiac triple bypass in 2015 and a radical prostatectomy in 2016. Some dark moments but did stay active and did followed up with a rigorous rehab after the cardiac surgery. With the cancer I did research the different treatment plans with consulting physicians and with various men who participated in the various treatment plans before choosing the surgical route.

Rehab and support groups did help me stay active in my physical and mental recovery.

Hi Mark,

I am been on quite a journey of several operations. Radiotherapy, chemotherapy and now immunotherapy. Been told so many times that my life expectancy is limited. Been working 5 days this week as a builder. Full on work. Feel pretty damned good.

I have had cancer in 5 areas so far. Scan on monday. Oncology consultant tuesday.

How am I doing? I am doing great. Enjoying life. Noone can tell me how long I have left to live.

Live life to the full. I have had counselling and feel stronger, more resilient and larger than life.

You are doing great Mark. Let’s celebrate our journeys. Never give up hope. The biggest battle is the mental one. The body and treatments will do their thing.

Keep your mind strong and body active !

Hi Dan, haven’t visited this thread for a while but have just caught up.

This has given me the chance to see the disappointment of chemo and the hope immuno therapy offers.

It seems to me that your health has really improved since you have been on the immuno treatment and I am sure the counselling has helped too.

You seem stronger and happier more recently, and long may it last.

I realise you have the results of the scan to come and I, as usual, am wishing you the very best.

What a great place this is for you to check in. So many thoughtful and supportive souls for you to hopefully get some strength from. And what unites us - a little UK hifi company. Just weird, but wonderful too.

Stay strong my friend.

Hi Dan, so pleased to hear you’re doing great and to hear you so positive. I have no idea how you’re managing to keep up the building work! … says a lot about you.

I hear you on the mental side, it’s tough but I’ve found young grandkids have this magical ability to make you forget everything and lift you up :slightly_smiling_face:

Keep cranking out that techno  … I’ll keep doing the same with Floyd/Rush/Zeppelin … have had the 350s pretty toasty at times!

All the best for the results of Mondays scan, I hope you don’t have to wait too long for them to come back :crossed_fingers:

Cheers
