Dan's thread

Got some news! I have a long awaited appointment to discuss an operation to repair my large hernia. The hernia was a result of my initial operation to drain the cyst which resulted in a 9 inch vertical scar from naval downwards.

Appointment is on 7th May.

Doing some major home improvements including a new tiled roof for my conservatory and solar panel system to go on the main roof of the house! Expensive projects but will be worthwhile.

Thank you all for your continued support!

I am feeling pretty good these days and enjoying life!

Thank you all for your amazing feedback. I have had immunotherapy treatment today which is for life. It’s every 4 weeks and I am at hospital for about 3 hours or so.

Thanks again for your care, support and thoughts!

Love you all!

I have just read all your messages in this thread. I’m on the forum all the time so I don’t know why I’ve not seem them before. They make compelling reading and as we all, who are in the C club know, a positive, determined attitude is an enormous part of the battle. Wonderful news about the corner you have turned and the place you have reached. I don’t mind going for my treatment every 2 weeks … I know all the nurses and they know me, the care is absolutely world class and the sessions are an opportunity for 3 hours’ peace and quiet reading the paper and doing the crossword. You’ll get into the rhythm of your regular treatment too. I’m sure it will go well for you.

I wonder if I’m the only forumite wondering how you can have, and make the most of, a fabulous hifi system with 4 children around you!

I have been having a mixture of treatments every 3 or 4 weeks with some gaps for operations over the last 4 years or so!

The immunotherapy has been in place for 12 months now so will continue for life. It’s extremely boring in the hospital as my favourite nurse who was so much fun has moved on to a promotion into acute oncology.

I just can’t wait to get out of there. Been going there for so long. I also get annoyed with patients turning up with colds and coughing everywhere. I had to move away from someone today in the reception area coughing and sneezing!

But, moans aside I am doing great. Loving life and making plans which I wasn’t able to do before!

You are still young Dan, time enough for a more permanent treatment to be developed and then tailored for you:crossed_fingers:t4:

Hi Guys and girls,

Have a slight cold and sore throat right now. Didn’t stop me working today. But got to 1pm and packed away. Grinding out patio pointing in this weather was too much even for Big Dan.

New conservatory tiled roof and french doors being fitted next week.

Solar panel system survey tomorrow (1st survey cancelled by them, No Comment!).

Health, family and work life all going good.

Chilling out now listening to Zoneripper fed to ND555 500DR system this afternoon.

Sadly, like the Core, they discontinued the Zoneripper. Still going strong and sounds better than Streaming apps.

Wishing you all the best on a hot May day!

Great to hear it Dan. Sensible in this heat to take it easy. Hope you get your solar sorted, get the impression solar guys were busy before this current oil crisis.
