David Gilmour

Hi Stuart, Yep it seems quite a few people on the forum like it. I will give it a few more listens to see if it grows on me.

I pressed the AmEx last week for the 24/96 FLAC from HDT.

Yes it has grown on me just as many posts have said.
Its just outstanding typical DG with superbly crafted arrangments
His lyrics are worth a real close listen with some giving me the impression he has hidden thoughts going on.
His vocals are showing signs of age, but the record is none the worse for it.
Guitar is just Gilmour as only Gilmour does it, outstanding.
Then we have Rick Wright playing again with DG … the Barn Jam is something special.

On this album they’re all written by his wife, aren’t they?

They’re all Polly’s, except on “Between Two Points” (Roger Quigley) and “Scattered” (Polly, Charlie and Dave). Dave can’t really write lyrics, as he freely admits.

Hi @TheKevster and @elverdiblanco, yes point taken, I was aware some lyrics were written by Polly & others, just not sure of who wrote what (yet). I still sense some underlying stuff in there.

Her lyrics stand out, unfortunately not in a good way.
