The majority is purchased wholesale from a large regional public utility, and there is also a portion generated by local hydro electric dam. Mostly it is a distribution co op. But the info I am going on is from a local electrician who did some work at my home last year. I asked him why my lightbulbs were burning out so frequently and he said that the local co op does push more power depending on demand and if the lightbulbs were 115v and not 120v it could reduce the life. I don’t know much beyond that unfortunately!
