I thought the same to be honest.
Don’t think the songs are as catchy though

Our friends love this and have a family party on Saturday night to watch it.
Personally I think it’s gone Ott and avoid it like the plague. It’s not about the song anymore it’s about how weird you can be

Which is a shame for those contestants with the reasonable pop type song or a good ballad. I shall probably watch it for amusement.
From the sounds (and looks) of it, it seems my choice to watch Champions League instead was the right one.
I know some people love it and it’s reasonably popular down in the colonies I find it rather boring.
Stopped watching it years ago as a song contest, but as a Send out the Nutters contest, it’s great.
The songs are usually bad and even if the UK had the best song and artiste, we would still get “Nil Points”.
