Dynaudio Contour Legacy

I’ve currently got a pair on home demo thanks to Pete at Acoustica and Bill Livingston at Dynaudio.

The thought is to replace my ancient but wonderful Wilson Benesch Arcs in my system the rest of which 282/ 250Dr / HCDR/ Marantz SACD 12 / Rega P8 with Aphetta and Chord P6.

Had them for 2 days and incredibly impressed so far. Much more detail , realism and bigger soundstage than my lovely old Arcs.

I’ve considered a few speakers in the past as a replacement but think these will be keepers.

Anyone else got any experience of them in a Naim system? Think there were only 1000 pairs made

Yep, I bought mine from Acoustica too

They really are great - always take the grills off when in use, as Dyn voice their speakers without the grills.. It makes a difference.

These are my endgame speakers - unless I’m lucky enough to have a lottery win.. LOL

Enjoy!!

The Dynaudio + NAIM pairing is the stuff of legend. I run SN3+HCDR+Special Twenty Five.

I have auditioned Contour Legacy a few times and they are simply some of the most sublime speakers I have ever heard, even at 2x their MSRP.

I have the little brother if you can call it the Dynaudio Heritage Special? I’m very satisfied, but if I had the space, I would definitely look at the Dynaudio Contour Legacy

I worried about not having a large enough listening room for the CLs, but I’m pleasantly surprised at well they perform in my space.

They also have the same foot print as the HS - go on, you know you want to!!

I’m 95% there. They are outstandingly good. So far I’ve played prog ,synth , pop, soul , blues and jazz and they seem happy with all genres.

Will be playing some classical this afternoon but expect that they will equally stunning with that.

Metal and rap who knows or cares.

I’m hearing detail on records that I’ve not heard before. Depth and soundstage is fantastic. Beautiful realism , everything I’ve looked for in a speaker and remarkably also passes the wife aesthetic test

Yes the depth is something I never experienced before.
Our tastes seem broadly similar, however I rarely play classical music.

I think they get better with time. Were yours a fresh pair or demo set.

Demo, fully “run in”

Having also auditioned Heritage Special extensively, I have to disagree. Contour Legacy has even more sublime mid-range and bass extension; it’s a far more balanced, cohesive speaker and is easily worth 2x the price of HS.
