On a Vogel tip this evening.
A calm before storm playlist this evening.
Having a stroopwaffel sort of day…
I really should go to bed soon
Trying to imagine being at a luvvie catwalk show which Richie Hawtin has soundtracked, presumably with a decent system, and feeling this subterranean bassline kick in.
My subs are absolutely loving this track.
I used to see Dave Clark in Rik’s Records next to Portslade station back in 1987 when he was an awkward slightly strange teenager rather than a Techno Superstar.
My listening today in the damp and grey weather of Berkshire
I was listening to it yesterday also
My Friday side kick.
Ooh, ta for that. Have a few John Digweed Live In Some City Or Other CDs, lining the new one up over breakfast!
(Plus a few Bedrock compilations on vinyl)
…small, but perfectly formed
And now I found Bedrock on Bandcamp X)
Yes I think his Northern Exposure sets in collaboration with Sasha was some of their finest work to date. It’d be great if they were to get together again and release another one.
A selection of music that I listened to a few weeks ago, all of which I consider to be exceptional and should appeal to fans of Electro-Industrial/EMB/Aggrotech. From top down and left to right:
- Heimatærde - Dark Dance (2009)
- God Module - Viscera (2005)
- Razed in Black - Share This Poison (2012)
- ohGr - TrickS (2018)
- Alien Vampires - Harshlizer (2010)
- Leæther Strip - Fit for Flogging (1993)
- Aesthetic Perfection - A Violent Emotion (2008)
- Sister Machine Gun - Sins of the Flesh (1992)
- Chemlab - Burn Out at the Hydrogen Bar (1993)
- Velvet Acid Christ - Fun with Knives (1999)
- X Marks the Pedwalk - Abattoir (1991)
- Ministry - Twitch (1986)
I would highly recommend ‘God Module’, ‘Alien Vampires’ and ‘X Marks the Pedwalk’ to begin with
Recent rerelease. With a reworking on the mastering.
I have a few other iterations and originals of this on analog and digital.
Definitely digs deeper, but seems like the bpm is raised slightly making this collection more tense than chilled.
For laid back electronic dub, it’s hard to go past Pitch Black, and their recent remixes release “Mixes and Mavericks” is quite nice. I’ve been rather enjoying their “pitch black’s hubristic prayerformance” mix of “The Gods must be crazy” by Youth and Gaudi
