Ethernet cable test, 4 cables go head to head

Maybe a trip in Scotland on Naim bikes would be less cost effective……

I think the idea of cruising in a boat appeals more for me. But bikes are wonderful! Whatever floats your boat :muscle:

Yes, to me too. I was more joking. I guess that after 2 hours on that bike, I would have difficulties to sit down anywhere for a while.

It’s great to see a new dCS product, but it’s not a vivaldi replacement, its a new higher level completely.
As for the £217 K price tag, well that’s more than double the new price of the vivaldi, and it’s certainly much more than i could ever go.

But the first compassion has been released, and the guy was surprised at the difference in SQ between it and the vivaldi.
But the vivaldi is 12 years old now, yes its had upgrades along the way to further inpove it and yes it’s still a fantastic sounding product, but progress happens, and dCS has once again upped the game.
Looking forward to hopefully some trickle down upgrades for my vivaldi.
But my vivaldi gear is certainly not going anywhere.
Cheers dunc

Back to ethernet cables

Well after a guy had been following this thread he contacted me and is sending me the chord music ethernet to try against these.
It should be here today hopefully.

But i already use the chord music Xlr’s and like what they do, so looking forward to hearing this.

And I thought the Omega was expensive. :scream:

Tut, tut.

They don’t even put the components on a rack!

Ditto Naim Statement.

One would hope that at the price they are, all required isolation is built in.

I agree but suspect they are not. One would hope for the kind of isolation that’s in a Puritan PSM156 for instance and a very good inbuilt ethernet isolation thingy so no need for a switch.

Oh you might mean something else entirely with “isolation”

I was referring to mechanical effect, as tgd subject was rack…

Your plumbing skills should come in handy - not the most flexible of cables !

Probably because it looks more impressive like that?
Naim show the same.

The chord music is here, so I will try later.
Also, if it works better, then i can have this for less than i was going to pay.
Plus, being secondhand, it’s well run in, plus it won’t lose any money unlike the other’s being new.

Anyway we will see, i am hoping for great things due to it’s new cost.

Just like naim do, tut tut.

Only naim isn’t built like this, but then the cost to mill this from a solid billet of aluminium would be very substantial.

As you can see it’s something else.

What are they building Dunc? Good luck wirh the Chord cable. Been working on my house all week. As you know as a plumber, it’s the last thing you want to do. Always easier on someone elses house.

Enjoying my system so much at the moment. Have I had thoughts about a dCS Rossini. Of course. But don’t want to ooen pandora’s box as they say!

Full 500 system sounding resolute and loving it! :muscle:

Working at home is always a strange one.

The picture is off the new dCS core. As you can see, all the separate compartments milled into it all.

As i said, Dan, enjoy what you have just got.
Changing it means you have to go all in, or it just won’t work as good as it should, i know i have been there.

An hour or so in, and the music cable is certainly nice.
The voices have a nice tone to them, and the mids, and highs are very nice.
I would say that it’s not quite as warm as the hemingway or the omega, but i haven’t swapped them over to check, this is just my initial thoughts.

I am staying put Dunc. Like you say give it 2 years, enjoy it and see where I am.

I am enjoying the ND555 and have got the screen working on tracks now!

It was switched off previously!

I had a dream. The dream was full 500 system. Now I have that dream the set is complete.

A new system is not what I have in mind. But listening to your wonderful system was a pleasure my friend!

Great system :+1: If you get bored I’d recommend to evaluate cables here and there. You might find few percent more that you can squeeze out of it
