Confused about the metal ends on Ethernet cables.

Folks say to use the ones without the metal ends - that the whole system has to shielded for it to work well - and otherwise it’s worse - since it’s acts as an antenna

So that’s where BJC comes in - and folks love this - even Cat 6a is UTP right?

And then we have the chord cables by- c-stream, that have these metal thingies on both ends… which sound better to me. That’s STP right?

So which is it?

And if I’m getting a cable to connect from patch panel to EE8 - should it be total unshielded, float one side or both sides shielded ? In any case - unless the router is grounded, it’s moot no?

EE8 isn’t grounded - so it has to be the streamer and uniticore that provide the grounding?

So the two cables that go from streamer/uniticore to switch are ok with shielding - and should be STP, But other cables that go to ungrounded endpoints best UTP?

But good to understand the theory - and then validate it with audio experiments - otherwise too many variables
