Ethernet cables - YOUR LISTENING Shooutout Summary

I don’t really know anything about the that Kef sub in particular (I use REL in a multi-sub array of stereo pairs), but if @tt33 opens a thread about it, I will try to weigh in with reasonable advice. Just tag me like you did here.

I’m not going to follow this thread for replies though, because I’m already convinced the whole idea of pricey boutique ethernet cables is, well, nevermind…

It’s always good to read some positive news. I’m glad it’s now working well.

OK - it is a cable for my environment? What do you think?

Which cable and with NDS or ND555?

NDS - 3008 - between server and PN

Catsnake ethernet cable did the exact same thing in my previous all- Naim system.

I don’t think it’s possible to say since our setups are so different. You can purchase from Audiophonics with a return window and send it back if you do not like it

You’ve got mail.

10m of c stream now installed after a very sweaty few hours getting it in place under the floorboards on either side of the lounge and attached to the ceiling in the basement.. phew. I’ll put some music on shortly to test but I’m not expecting any significant difference. This was more of a hobby install.

It will sound different , just like I told you about the sparks on the main block . :flexed_biceps:t2:

What did you have before c-stream?

I was using some standard cat 6a from a nice little UK company called Rhino cables. I get all of my networking cables from them.

Forgive me if you’ve already said, but what Ethernet cable do you use on the last leg (i.e. plugged into the streamer)?

Hi, I use an Ansuz D3 from my switch into my Linn streamer and an Ansuz X2 from my switch into my Roon Nucleus. The X2 was a nice improvement, but the D3 cable was a revelation adding so much more character and sound stage. I’ve been really happy with it.

I do own an Aavik amp and streamer and did put some Axxess Noirs under it. Nice uplift in the overal sound.
Thinking of upgrading the last leg of Ethernet cable (Audioquest Carbon) from switch (netgear g105 with Ifi X powersupply) to streamer.

Ansuz seems a good option. Is the A2 that much better than X2? How “bendy” is it? As I don’t have a lot of space behind the streamer.

It really is better. X2 to A2 to D2 is a noticeable improvement at every step. X2 is very bendable but A2 is not that much stiffer. I don’t think you’ll have any troubles with it. Very good cables.

Glad to hear Axxess Noir is working for you. I’m planning to upgrade the cables first and then move to other things like isolation. I tried Darkz but found them too expensive at this point.

AGD’s priorities are power, noise control and vibration control. All well known and very much in Naim’s school of thought as well.

Ooh that’s unfortunate, I’ve heard that Ansuz cables are the worst of the worst :face_with_peeking_eye:

That is not my experience, I have tried many high end cables including Super Lumina, Chord Sarum T and Vertere Pulse-R and Ansuz is in a completely different league to them. The best of the best in my opinion
