Hi Michaelb,
I haven’t had much time since Friday so have just left it. Maybe get a chance to check up on it tonight. It look fab still if that helps.

I did, albeit briefly. Quite similar. But the Ghent also works better for me as it has a 45 degree connector to the microRendu and I had it in place long before the BJC Cat 6a revelation so it’s staying. I’m not sure if mine has the just the JSSG or the JSSG 360.
All this cable swapping means potential network issues etc so not going to swap to compare. Everything working and sounding lovely so I’m over it. Just wanted to put the Ghent version out there as an option for those who may want to spend a bit more but not at Vodka/Chord prices. It’s a very neutral cable compared to others I’ve tried, and the Designacable descriptions on here seem to fit it as well. If you can afford a 272, then it probably won’t kill you to compare a few lower to mid-priced ethernet cables yourself. Plus the Ghent looks nice. I probably wouldn’t order one at the moment though due to shipping concerns. More discussion of it by searching at the Audiophile Style forum.
Looks pretty chunky and well built
I would say a conventional look. We will see how it sounds. It began to burn.
Just ordered mine, should be shipped in a few days, can’t wait to test them.
I do like the sound from solid core Ethernet cables though…even with a bit of silver in them.
I also got one of the Catsnake ethernet Cables today. Swapped it out for my Chord Epic ethernet into my Moon Streamer from my Cisco switch. The Moon transport goes into my Ndac 555. Sounds great going to leave it on overnight and then put the Chord back in to see what I am missing
@jmtennapel I for one love the forum bias! I am skipping multiple demo sessions lasting probably several days and just buying a full streaming solution based on everyone else’s opinion! It goes against what almost all would suggest but if it sounds great and I save a bunch of time and effort then I am happy!
I will be going catsnake 6a floating full loom naturally as thats the current flavour of the month! ![]()
It’s all MichealB’s fault!
He is so definite about how different each digital cable sounds.
And he has a posh stereo.
But also he tests anything that moves.
And he likes mid price cables better than crazy expensive ones.
It’s all about hearing the actual instruments as they sounded in the room.
@anon77199223 he convinced me for sure! I am even thinking about the CHC DC3 P/S he loves so much on his EtherRegens!! As far as I am concerned if someone has done the hard work its a waste if others don’t try to learn from it! I am sure his ears are better than mine as well! I love the music but not the HiFi bits so much!
After the blue jeans wagon, now the Catsnake. For me it will be the last try. Wonder if it will replace my vodka, I doubt. Because the Blue Jeans was far away for me.
But I am curious. The cat is burning since 3 hours.
Steve - I think it was you who coached me so well in how to sell vinyl on eBay.
Those posts have added significantly to my hifi fund.
So this forum is for sure a great place to learn from fellow experts.
Ahhaa, yeah most likely! I am always selling stuff on eBay! The vinyl was a good little earner for me also! I am on CD’s now!! When I have ripped all of my bootlegs I will sell those without any conscience. I think I have about 350!! Will probably get me close to the price I paid for the ND555! Bonkers ehh?!!
Glad I have helped someone as currently its me doing the taking!
Have you not even had a meow yet FR?
Never tried BJC cables, so can’t help.
The BJC 6a are also floating. The main physical differences are that the BJC‘s are solid core in bonded pairs.
Do not fret, I am out of analogies. Just enjoying the music between the thunder and lightening. Currently everything is switched off and unplugged.
Bizarrely, I found the Catsnake 6a sounded better with the blue boot.
