Ubiquiti doesn’t produce consumer DSL solutions. My mistake.
You’d better off with a cheap DSL modem, or something provided by your ISP, and then append to it an Ubiquiti Mesh.
Their products seem to be innovative, reliable and easy setup.

A dealer told me about a steal to order where a pair of Shahinian Diapasons were taken. Nothing else in the house was touched. They knew exactly what they were after.
I know the waiting list is long, but …
They look nice , stylish, and not heavy to carry I feel.
Yes, I believe steal-to-order is not uncommon, starting with cars because they are so visible (and generally easy to steal), but nowadays also other assorted high value things, though maybe Statement and 500 series more than Naits… size and weight are immaterial if value is sufficiently high. And information sources undoubtedly include internet “social media” and, possibly, specialist fora like this. So of course when giving details of your high-end system, be sure to make it seem as if you live at tge same address as the local police station.

@Kirk,…That is the case in Sweden,.and in most countries in the world I think.
Thank you for living in reality,.and not in any fantasy-world of your own
.
I have chosen,.not to respond to a previous stupid comment on this, directed at me.
If some have a need to use “pat on the head”-techniques against others (me),.then they just prove their own stupidity.
I have several examples on this subject from Sweden,.tells below about two cases…
He is very well-known at all different Hifi-forums in Sweden.
He has always used a ‘nick-name’,.and is known to always have Top-Notch systems.
He often helps to give advice,.and is the one in Sweden, who has tested and evaluated most Internet/streaming-cables.
This has he done the last 12 years,.so many seek help from him.
He lives in Gothenburg,.Sweden’s second largest city.
He’s over 50 years old,.Engineer (for those of you who like tech-spec
).
•He described his system on the various Hifi-forums where he is a member,.even with pictures.
He doesn’t anymore…!!!
He had a break-in in his big house a few years ago,.they stole his entire top-notch active system.
Everything disappeared
.
Around 2001,.this aforementioned Linn-store had burglary.
•They stole everything,.just everything…!!!
All Linn demonstration-products,.all new Linn products,all Linn-speakers etc,etc.
Everything disappeared.
We put out series-numbers on all the stolen at all Hifi-forums in Sweden.
Nothing has been found.
I have many more examples,.but I’ll stop here. But then you understand that it is laughable ridiculous,.to read these constant rude comments that this member is pointing at me…see below…
“That is a load of rubbish, maybe it’s real in his imagination, who knows, but in real life audio equipment is not something that 21st century thieves want,”
• This stupid post needs no further comment.
Those of you who have followed me on the forum,.have probably understood that I am also at least,as well known in Hifi-Sweden as my friend Music_Lover.
Therefore,.I am very careful with what I am writing more specific in my profile.
But those of you who have read my profile,.get probably still,a fairly clear picture of the level of my system.
And,.many, much of the detail-pictures of products I put in may be mine,.I’m not saying that’s the case…but it may be so ![]()
.
And regarding my big system,.there’s a picture of it on the forum.
It may be in this thread,.or maybe in any other thread😉.
Again,.those of you who usually read my posts here,.you can probably draw conclusions about what system it might be,.if you see the picture in any thread.
Note,.I will not confirm if you ask.
As I said,.I am very careful,Sweden is small,.only 10 million inhabitants.
•Now it’s time for some coffee,.and after that, well then I have to go out and shovel snow.
See you…
/Peder ![]()
I will be testing that one shortly in my system. Played with the Audioquest Cinnamon ethernet cable but was not convinced. Felt it was too much on the bright side and low frequencies were restrained compared to my no name ethernet cable.
Can you write your GPS coordinates and post on your profile? ![]()
I was right finally saying above why you don’t want to post your system pic.
Hmm - interesting, thank you. A little disturbed by many reports that the WiFi is weak. But it is MESH, I think, which should be good.
Here (WLAN-Router im Test - Bestenliste - CHIP) you can find test results. Unfortunately only in German.
Sharing a system pic, or posting system details in profile, is ONLY a risk if you also provide details of your true identity or address, or sufficient detail that enable them to be identified.
Without that link the risk is minimal, and if you have already posted a picture somewhere on the forum, what is the harm in posting again or describing? If my memory serves me correctly you were, after all, critical of someome else not providing precise detail…
Absolutely agree IB. Ridiculous logic, practically everyone on the forum posts some detail of what they have, & no one gets robbed because of it.
Besides which, as stated by many on this & other places, any readers writings of how an item like an ethernet component affects their perception of replay sound is meaningless without knowing the network endpoints.
Indeed, pointless…
I’ll get my coat…
Innocent_Bystander,..Wrong..!!!
You really have a little too free flying fantasies,.if you think that I have claimed something like this above
.
•For me,.and I think many of us…
It’s Incredibly Strange,.that you can draw these conclusions after reading my long post.
My suggestion is,.read it again, and also what I say between the lines.
And I also have an unusual last name that everyone recognizes.
But,.just for you,I’ll put in more information,so you really understand my position.
1.In the late 1990s,.northern Sweden’s largest daily newspaper, made a big story on multiple pages about me and my music-interest/music-systems.
It’s not something I’m going to do again,.I got big “security-problems” after this reportage.
2.Also,.troughout the 1990s,and some years into the 2000-century.
I was also involved in various hifi-reportage several times a year.
This in the two largest Hifi-magazines in Sweden.
So I know what problems it can bring,.that in a country with only 10 million inhabitants.
Become a little too public with expensive equipment.
Especially if you,as I said before,.like me,have an unusual last name.
So you understand Innocent_Bystander,.I’m unfortunately a little more well known than you might understand,in the hifi-world in Sweden,.and in some parts of Norway.
It’s not funny all the time,.you have to be careful, very careful.
But of course Mr.Mike-B is right as usual…
quote…“maybe it’s real in his imagination”
and now “Ridiculous logic” ![]()
![]()
Oh My God,.what a joke.
I couldn’t care less about his comments.
Michaelb,..As information,.now 24 out of 25 who have tested Audioquest Vodka ethernet/streaming cable, have got better soundquality when they tried AQ Vodka,.this on our recommendations.
We have let an AQ Vodka circulate for testing,.without knowing the network endpoints.
As usual in this interest,.theory is one thing,to try and testing in your own system is something else,.and that’s what’s important..!!!
The 25th has now also bought an AQ Vodka,.when he supplemented with a pakedge-switch,.so there was an incredible difference in soundquality he said.
Before he bought this switch,.there was no difference between his usual cable and this AQ Vodka.
But with a switch in the system,.AQ Vodka went away from the other cable considerably.
So now it’s 25 out of 25 that got better soundquality,.without us knowing about the network endpoints.
A pretty good “statistical basis”,.when testing in their own systems.
Now it’s dinner-time…
/Peder![]()
Hi Peder, I was simply indulging in a little wordplay on endpoints and pointless with no disrespect to you.
But I do think it is very helpful when people feel able to mention their systems, like Darke Bear, since different choices do produce difference sounds and reflect different musical preferences. Indeed, knowing what music people like is also something I take into account when hearing which choices have proved most satisfying to them.
Taking the Vodka cables as an example, as you know, I do not have a high opinion of them for classical music in particular in my system. I have not heard them in other systems, although I do know through this forum of several people who ending up taking them out of their systems in favour of other (and much cheaper) cables. Does this invalidate your friends’ preferences? No, it enriches our knowledge and informs our own experiments. Knowing the systems in which people came to these findings can help enrich them further.
That said, I perfectly understand and respect people not wanting to post any information whatsoever on their systems here.
Also, for the record, I found the posts of people teasing and chiding you for not posting your system information silly, rude and unhelpful. I suggest you don’t rise to it. It’s just not worth it and gets them all excited for next time.
@Peder, you accuse me of not reading your posts, yet you evidently have not read mine! If you look back you will note that after FR expressed a view as to a possible reason why you had not responded to the request to reveal your system, I actually supported the notion of being circumspect about either revealing what you have if your identity is known, or identifying yourself or your home if you have an expensive system identified on the forum. And I remain of that view, not suggesting otherwise to you.
However, you yourself said:
…it was that that I picked up in my last post to which you so vehemently objected, my post pointing out that if the info is there somewhere then it is already identifiable against your forum name so the risk is already there.
I note that you say that you are here under your own name: Peder may be your real name, but I imagine there are thousands of people with the same given name in Sweden, even hundreds Boden so it scarcely identifies you. But clearly you feel that there is more elsewhere that ties a Peder posting the things you post to an identifiable individual and maybe even your home. If that is the case then I understand your reluctance to repeat your previous indiscretion of revealing your gear, and I would not press you to reveal more - indeed I would advise strongly against it.
As for my reference to you pressing someone else, I apologise if my memory was incorrect and you were not one of those demanding that @TiberioMagadino identify his specific equipment, but if you were one of those perhaps you now recognise one possible reason why he may be reluctant to respond.
With regard to context, as many of us have identified repeatedly, the effect of cables and switches will depend on the specific network, the electromagnetic environment it is in, and the specific streamer or DAC it is feeding - so without that context any individual’s experience gives no indication as to whether others will hear the same (although in practical terms the electromagnetic environment is likely to be impossible to identify). And of course the rest of the system is likely to be significant in terms of audibility of any effects (including room, and the listener’s ear/brain). So, sadly, without that information any individual’s postings are of limited meaning to others, though of course that does not stop them being of interest, or indeed a source of inspiration as to things that might possibly be worth exploring.
You are specially insisting IB and sometimes it’s very tiring. You never give up.
Peder said twice he doesn’t want to give more details or pics of his system. Why continue?
I haven’t asked him to - in fact I pointed out I understood his reasoning and that given his identifiability he indeed shouldn’t…
My response was because he had in part misrepresented what I had said, and in part acknowledging the additional information he imparted.
And you do?
Good night! ![]()
Not this time apparently…not in bed yet.
