Didn’t they make the Lightning (jet fighter)? Maybe they’re covered by the Official Secrets Act!
Or. rather could, as it depends on everything else that might affect resultant sound quality, including what it might be replacing.
So it’s with everything you try/connects in your music-system.
Quite natural and nothing strange…
/Peder🙂
Apparently, the details on the website were added just as the show opened. They wanted to have something online for the launch but will add a bit more “meat” later.
I inadvertently barged my way in to the Chord room 20 mins before their press launch but they were kind enough to give me a solo dem comparing an 8Switch with a Netgear. Not unexpectedly it was way better. Although I don’t recall quite the same level of improvement when I replaced my Netgear with a Cisco, I’ll need to try one at home. Certainly very impressive on this brief experience.
We agree!!!

Does it flow through the space within the copper (or silver) atoms, reducing the electrical resistance as it goes?
Dave,…Interesting,.Kalle (High Fidelity) see my post above, was also very positive about this EE 8Switch.
And he is suspicious of most things,.and evaluates for a long time before delivering an opinion.
It will be interesting when listening-impression begin to fall into the thread.
/Peder🙂
Definitely maybe. If a single application only requires a sub-atomic amount of the stuff, then 10 ml should last quite a while.
Ohmic fluids? Mystical druids? I say bring it on.
I think I saw it for sale on WeSawYouComing.com
I listened to the EE 8Switch in the Chord demo at the Bristol Show today. First a basic Netgear switch (we were told it cost around £45) and then the EE 8Switch.
Quite a noticeable uplift, but so there was when I replaced my Netgear switch with first one 2960 and then two 2960s. But I believe (will need to check at home) that there was a greater uplift in SQ today with the EE 8Switch. Price £450-£500, release imminent.
Interestingly, Chord were using a Naim rig for the test (NDX2/XPSDR/282/NAPSC/HiCapDR/300DR so comparable to what I have at home), with an Innuos Zenith SE Server.
They also demonstrated a certain thick cable, veerrry interesting. I will meet anyone interested in secret to discuss. I’ll be the one with the red carnation!
Nudge, nudge, wink, wink.
Fishy place or elsewhere?
I don’t play in the fishy place and am not able to discuss here.
Shame because I think it is a real step forward. Maybe Naim and Chord might decide to collaborate. It would make sense, if commercially both can be satisfied.
Apologies for the diversion, Peder.
I take it you are referring to Chord Company, as in cable and “ohmic fluid”, I believe based also in Salisbury, as opposed to Chord Electronics, of DAC fame?
Correct.
I’ve only just worked out they’re 2 different companies.
You are on the other side of the world, Pete. You are forgiven.
Hopefully for a lot things. ![]()
@NigelB,…Hi
,.maybe it’s my English understanding,but why can’t you discuss it in a thread,.whose one name is…“Cables Mania”…??
/Peder🤔
Forums rules Peder - as the ‘Thick’ cables carry power between boxes, discussions on modifications of these or 3rd party replacements aren’t permitted (same applies for SNAIC cables)
