France very lucky with that decision to rule out the Dutch goal. Thought Taylor should have been invited to view the incident on there TV screen. Had he done so I think he would have allowed the goal.
āFacetiousā. Thereās a good word Woy.
Iāve had a drink, and I know this is off topic, but here goesā¦
There are only 2 words in the English language that have all 5 vowels in alphabetical order.
Facetious is one. Whatās the other?
No googling. Goodnight. Iāll get my coat
Both the French and the Dutch were garbage, but the Dutch deserved to win. This var is getting beyond a joke. The player had no affect on the goalie and itās still disallowed after 3-4 mins waiting for a decision. How to kill the game.
English friend sent me this after the game the other day.
Presumably a cricket or rugby union fan, with a chip on each shoulder.
I agree with you Andy. I donāt think Eddie or Klopp for that matter would be interested. Possibly Potter, Tuchel and maybe even Poch might be
If the England players looked like they were enjoying it it would help a bit.
That was a classic case of both teams wanting to avoid defeat more than they were willing to risk going for the win.
But as a spectacle, it was dire.
We always seem to set out with the main objective being to avoid defeat.
Matters are not helped by the fact that Southgate seems unable to alter our play once the game has started.
Yes, it seems rather odd for a team 'packed full with world class players '.
At recent tournaments we have developed what should be a good habit, in scoring early on. Unfortunately, this seems to produce the unfortunate trait of us retreating further into our own half & inviting the opposition to keep up their attacks until the inevitable, they score. We then appear to accept that we are not going to win instead of āgiving it everythingā.
As someone said in an earlier post, āten minutes to go, needing a goal, the players display no urgency at all & continue playing sideways & backward passes as if time is totally unimportantā. The coaching staff seem content to let this happen.
The more I see of Southgate, the more I am convinced he has an abundance of the qualities exhibited by several recent Norwich managers! Pretty cluelessā¦
Watching England v Denmark was a bit groundhog days for a City fan.
Southgate seemed powerless in convincing his midfield to come out of their half and alter the turnover stats so we could bring on a creative alternative.
As before, we donāt need a creative alternative (we have a boat load of 'em in the side already), we just need to have the ball and stop the other team from having it.
If only Belgium could shootā¦
Finally, a game to excite the armchair fans.
Belgium go ahead after 2 minutes, and, rather than sit back, continue to press on in pursuit of further goals.
Romania, having recovered from the early shock, are retaining their composure and trying their hardest for an equaliser.
Cracking game of football.
There have been lots of exciting games imo, just neither of the ones England played in.
Iāve clearly been watching the wrong games then.
I just wish the Engerland games were scheduled a bit later each evening, as, so far Iāve been nodding off several hours in advance of my bedtime!
These offside goals are a shame. Thatās not how itās intended.
Lukaka should have smaller kneecaps
Lukaku was offside. If we start moaning about such things (well, he was only JUST offside), then where is the point where someone is, or someone isnāt.
VAR got it right. Thatās how it is intended.
Yep VAR got the right call based on the rules. Itās the rules what is wrong innit.
Offside is intended to stop players getting an unfair advantage. Having bigger kneecaps or your toes pointing one way rather than another than a defender is not an unfair advantage.
