F1 - 2025 Season

For someone who had hardly put a foot wrong in his career, the Ferrari move did seem strange. I can’t imagine he did it for the money.

Take out the Schumacher/Brawn years & their recent reliability/success record has not suggested that an eight title was simply waiting for him to turn up & collect.

I would be surprised to see him continue racing when he leaves F1. I think he has several other interests in the media & fashion worlds.

Whilst lots of the media seem to think the Merc engine will likely be the best, and consequently have them as the favourites for next season, it is just speculation at the moment. Whilst pre-season testing will give us an indication of where the teams stack up, we won’t know for sure until the season is underway. Audi or Ford/Red Bull could spring a surprise on everyone. Ferrari might finally get their act together. It could be a repeat of 2014, or we could have half a dozen teams fighting for wins.

As for this season. Predicting who will win is at best educated guesswork and at worst, wishful thinking. All that is certain is that this time in 2 weeks, we will know.

Well it’s Lando isn’t it.

He needs 35 points out of 2 races and a sprint race if Verstappen wins everything (or Piastri for that matter). So 3rd place or better at every race event. He’ll probably manage that unless his team screw up again.

Looking that way. I am just glad Max is still in the game.

they do not care about any team mate. also money. paying Horner and the staff member a lot of money.

Gossip or some truth?

With Adrian already there, All they need is to buy Max out of his contract and rename the team RBll.

Well I thought one of the reasons Adrian left RBR was to get away from Christian Horner!

He did, but apparently they have met up, talked through their issues and resolved them, so maybe the Adrian / Christian partnership will ride again.

Plus I think both Verstappens were pleased to get rid of him.

Let’s hope for an open field of cars capable of winning races next year. In previous times, when there has been a large rule change that means a redesign of cars and engines, this has often meant one manufacturer gets it right early on, with the others developing to catch up during the season. It does not mean that is the way it will go of course.

Audi could be a surprise package, but they are for next year at least, using customer engines and gearboxes from Ferrari, so they are at least partially tied to their performance.

Or Jos.

max will not drive a car that has not won a race.

No because he is the only driver who could win in anything. So it would then have won a race.

Next year’s cars will not have won a race when they arrive in Australia. Or not a car even remotely like any of them. It will be interecting.

History tends to repeat itself. World champion drives new car in new season. Driver doesn’t perform well. Driver gets fed up eventually and joins another team. Driver struggles with new team. Driver eventually fades away into history. :joy:

Something tells me next year could be a bit of a disaster. Car backing off on the straights to recharge by changing down a gear etc. Mercedes is meant to be ahead in engine design but I have heard they keep blowing up. From all cars within a second qualifying, that will be gone and more like 3 second gaps. And no- one knows why, F1 should not follow the electric lie!!

Yes, I read that cars will run out of battery on the straights. It could be a disaster if drivers have to manage their way round and not be able to race.

What’s the worry?

Anyone would think that the FIA and F1 don’t know what they’re doing.

As if they would shy away from bringing us a racing formula designed to allow drivers and cars to race each other at full pelt for the total race distance providing a terrific, quality sporting spectacle, several times a year at exciting race tracks through the racing calendar. I can’t believe they would simply expand the number of races and run the formula with so much artifice and artificialness both on and off the track so that every kid and their sponsors can go away with a prize, at the same time sacrificing the sport inherent in motor racing to simply bring in more cash to the fat, greedy porkers rubbing their noses in the trough that is US and UAE Corporate PLC. Doesn’t make any sense.
