I’d like to say it was a product of a misspent youth……but
(A) I was an engineer
(B) I can’t remember!
Next time remind me not to go with tall folk.
I’ve just got back to my hotel I don’t know about the rest of you but I’m toast.
Had wonderful time and I’m pleased to say most of the gang were reasonably well behaved. Don’t think anyone managed to smuggle out any state secrets stock or photos but I for one would have loved to have got into that R&D area.
Now for a beer some dinner and lights out.
It wasn’t me that broke the internet!
A few avatars need an an update.
I know everyone’s just going to assume it was me.
I’m so pleased you had a good time. It’s got to be better having a small and select group than loads of people that you never get to talk to. If you have a spare day and fancy a trip to the south coast, let me know!
Did you manage to nick that cute Nait 50?
I’m on the ferry now.
Safe journey back…
Back home now, not too bad a journey considering…nosh and grog already enjoyed.
A good day !!
The m25 was horrendous as usual.
Hopefully I can do some gardening tomorrow but I think I’ll be nacked.
Thanks to all at Naim for tolerating our peering at their work and to Steve and Richard for hospitality - a great day. As a physicist, I loved Steve’s Statement demo of Eddy currents, I hope the video captured it.
I’m the tall one who made Pete look particularly short but he deserved it for the cricket. No sign of unannounced products were found but a lot of Nait 50 and NC 350s in production- sadly not playing.
Any suggestion that I broke the internet while playing Ceiling Unlimited by Rush will be addressed by my solicitor- it wasn’t my fault the dem room was on a different wireless network
I’ve been officially given the day off from DIY or “mowing the lawns”!
So can I
Nope, no Nait 50 in my backpack unfortunately.
Hope you had a safe trip home it was a pleasure to meet you. It’s also good to know not everyone on the forum is an old fart.
Take care.
@HungryHalibut thank you for the kind offer but I don’t think my tried body could deal with another extended train trip this weekend maybe next time. Cheers.
Great movie I didn’t work it out till almost the end.
Thanks Naim for a very interesting tour !
To Pete for fixing it, and to Richard for giving up his personal time.
Great technical presentation from Steve…
Now understand a lot more about Naim and their transition from the old world of the Classic range/design to the new world of the New Classic range/design…thanks.
Looking forward to hearing the 350’s…
And was good to meet some Forum members !
Have a good weekend.
Maybe not a very popular thing to mention on this forum, but I liked the Focal loudspeakers in the listening room. Naim owners usually mention boogie / prat as a virtue of their systems, but coming from a classical background I very much liked the ‘timbre’ or colour of the loudspeakers. I’ve also noticed that with the cheaper Focals - even entry level. It’s a bit like B&W’s without the bass boom.
I didn’t mind them either until that Bowie track where it exposed a harsh top end at the beginning. However they did settle down.
