Firmware update v. 3.7.0

For Information:

I installed the update on my 1 month old NDX2 when the firmware first came out, and had been fine. Been away for two nights and just came back to the power button displaying 4 flashes followed by 2 followed by 2 then a pause (4 2 2) I powered off at the wall for two minutes, powered back on and now all working again.

There hadn’t been a power cut.

I have one question. Firmware 3.7 in nd5xs2 - Tidal connect should work when connected via wifi?

great firmware release (especially for Tidal connect) however, the new firmware made the front screen of my Uniti atom to stop working - completely black since then

Is there a way to have an update on this issue? Am I the only one with this problem?
Thanks

Have you tried a factory reset?

random, my ndx2 is humming. the screen that everyone hates is performing brilliantly. had some issues before but all cleaned up with this one.

Yes. Unfortunately that did not solve the issue

Did you leave it long enough between switching off, and unplugging and then plugging back in again?

Tidal Connect only works when both the Naim and the device running Tidal are on the same local network. Any combination of wired and/or wireless should work, that doesn’t matter.

Thank you,
my nd5xs2 works with a cable connection, and with wifi it does not work.

half a day… would that be enough? And anyway that’s not really a fix p it would be the most a work around. Funny enough no tresponse till now to the ticket I raised with the NAIM technical team.

Any other ideas?

Thanks

Ok good to hear you have had a response from Naim support. Out of interest what have they asked or recommended?

they quite clearly state there has been no response.

They said they had no response from the Naim technical team, until now. I assume they mean they’ve now heard from Naim technical support.

Of course they may have thought I’m technical support…

no, it means up until the point they posted they have not heard anything from naim.

It could also mean that, yes. Probably good to get some clarification. If so, please let me have a ticket number and I’ll pass it along to Naim to chase up.

Are the wifi and the cable connection on the same LAN or is your router separating them?

I did not have a response to my ticket. The ticket number is 122939. Thanks for chasing it up

That could be due to settings in your wireless network, e.g. you might have to enable a setting like “wireless devices may communicate with each other”.

the same network, after disconnecting the ethernet cable, switching to wifi Tidal works with the naim application, control from the Tidal application does not work. I prefer sound after connecting wifi.

Hmmm, odd. I’d try the usually recommended steps, they really helped many people with odd isssues:

  1. Ensure you have the latest Naim app (2.22.1 on Android, 5.22.2 on iOS), and for good measure also the Tidal app
  2. Log out of Tidal and back in, and do this both in the Tidal app and in the Naim app
  3. If it doesn’t help, shut down the streamer, unplug it, and leave unplugged for 30 minutes. In the meantime, shut down and restart the router. After 30 minutes, plug in and start the streamer.

Maybe you are lucky and it helps, and if not then you have at least ruled out some things. Maybe other members or @Naim.Marketing have other ideas, else it’s probably best if you contact Naim support:
