How long did you wait before shutting it down?
You don’t need to shut down, reboot or anything. You just need to wait about 10 mins until the app discovery restriction times out and it can look properly again. This is a feature not a bug, but it’s not well explained by our friends at Naim.
I waited like 5 minutes. Tried twice with opening room. Killed app. Tried again. Gave up. Turned the NDX2 off for about 10 minutes. Then it worked.
As @Suedkiez and @davidhendon are saying, after initiating a firmware update the Naim app is deliberately prevented from discovering the streamer for 10 minutes so will fail to appear even though it looks to all intents and purposes to have completed the update.
The 5 minutes you left it would not be long enough. It worked when you turned the streamer off for 10 minutes as this took it past the non-discovery window.
It is expected behaviour….well, it would be if it was clear in the instructions.
I appologise for writing this issue in the 3.7.0 update topic, but my troubles started with that firmware upgrade when (most likely concidentaly) my Uniti Atom lost its display.
Following your advice, I have returned to unit to be serviced, though haven’t heard any news about it for more than a month now, despite asking the retailer, etc. Last wek I have opened a ticket directly with Naim in an attempt to find more or less if they at least received the unit and if there are any chances I can hope to get it back before Xmas. The ticket number is 127589, but haven’t got an answer to that either.
While I am aware of the amount of work you may have, I will just leave this here in a hope that one of the admins will see it and hopefully have a look in the issue and maybe get some news back.
Thanks a lot
Bogdan
