If a member with a pair of the above could kindly measure their actual cabinet size it would be greatly appreciated.
My dealer has recommended them to me but after searching the forum I keep seeing mention of an “in your face sound” , wondered if this maybe too much of a contrast from my PMC Twenty26’s.
I will arrange a demo but wanted to get any opinions plus the actual size as well, many thanks in advance.
Thanks Skeptikal same measurements I found on their website but guessing they include the stands if not these are pretty wide and deep, just wanted to double check with someone who has a pair but many thanks for your prompt response, cheer’s
Looks like the stands come attached.
Or are you putting them somewhere smaller with stands sticking out or removed?
I found a review online that says that the footprint is 13” by 19”, while the front baffle is 10” across. If one assumes that the feet project the same in both directions, that would make the cabinet about 16” deep, excluding the feet. That sounds a little less deep than the PMC 26.
I demo’d focal kanta 2 with a supernait 3. Also dynaudio evoke 50, ATC SCM40, and a PMC 2-way floorstander (can’t remember the model).
I could have happily lived with any of the speakers except the Kantas, which to me sounded disjointed and just immediately…bad in a way I found really off-putting. I was surprised as they have good reviews. It may have been a bad match with the supernait or a purely personal response, but I would proceed with caution.
Just trying to work out the actual size of the cabinet, the bases seem to stick out quiet a lot which isn’t too much of an issue just working out how much bigger they are then my PMC’s.
Thanks HH , I didn’t want to organise a demo only to walk in and find the size a step too far .
Have a better idea now thanks to your measurements , cheers.
Hope these help. The Kanta 2 goes well with the SN3 IMO. I found the exact opposite to Bunter having tested similar speakers.
Have had them 2 years and am very pleased with them.
The Kanta was voiced differently to other Focal’s and I really liked them when I had them. I found them to be much more to my liking than PMC’s price approximate offering can remember the exact model.
I tend to find PMC’s are over priced for what you get. ….

I bought the Kanta 02 this year. Rearranged, the speakers sounded a little harsh.
But now, after a recording time of 2 months, they sound just as good as I heard them at the performance in the dealer’s rooms.
They are characterised by a good and precise bass, a great richness of detail in the middle and high notes and a fantastic three-dimensionality.
I can only recommend these speakers.
Thanks James that’s perfect, not a massive difference in size compared to my current speakers , the width is more but generally very similar proportions.
PMC’s have indeed risen in price since I purchased mine but their popularity doesn’t seem to have altered, you only have to look through some of the member’s equipment lists to see how common they are.
I would of liked to try the newer twenty5 26i’s but at close to £10k they are out of my price range now.
Looks like a demo is worth a try, they weren’t really on my radar but my dealer is a massive fan and recommended them, to be honest I hate demoing kit, I would be much happier trying kit at home where the environment is familiar to me, hopefully this maybe an option, if not then I may be forced to go elsewhere.
Measuring the feet (end to end): front width: 31.5cm; back width: 25.2cm; depth 47.5cm.
I bought mine when they were first introduced. Didn’t demo and am still happy with them.
Thanks for the measurements/pics, brave person to buy without hearing them first, the only reservation I have are a few comments regarding their “ in your face sound” which could be an issue, apart from that they seem highly rated by many people, hopefully the demo will decide if they are suitable for my system.
I actually found the ATCs and ProAcs I demoed more in your face than the Kantas. More studio like and clear whereas the Focals were more fun and the tweeter excellent. It was a close run thing between the Kantas and PMCs which are also excellent. I’d also try Neat if you can.
I have a Neat dealer close to me who also stocks Kudos, another brand that seem to have jumped up in price over the last few years but again a brand that is very highly regarded on this forum.
I attended the North Western Hifi show recently and heard many different set ups but struggled to find many that I liked, so this maybe a long slog, will see how it works out.
Enjoy the process !
Having just looked at your profile, I suspect that the best thing to do might be to change your 200 for a 250DR or ideally a 300DR. It would transform your speakers and make them sound much bigger and more authoritative. The 200 is really not up to it. Once that’s done I suspect you may be completely happy with your existing speakers.
