This is being reported: PGMOL confirmed that the VAR had failed to check whether it was a red card due to the analysis of the offside.
So they checked for the offside, but didn’t look at Pickford’s challenge. They could and should have done so.
Half time at the Ethiad I think Willian is looking a bit lost up front he and Aubameyang should switching positions a lot more perhaps Lacazette or even Nketia would do better.
Other than that Arsenal are Doing okay despite being one down but on the whole not a great game.

Yes, I’m watching. Dull, dull, dull game so far. I don’t dislike Pepe the way I do Ceballos, but he is mostly useless. I’d prefer to see Lacazette or Nketiah ahead of him.

Moving on. I know the pundits love to gush over Citeh, but their throttleball is the epitome of tedium. They’re the football equivalent of gastric band surgery, choking off flair, invention and fun.
Arsenal looking way better in defence (Gabriel’s a good signing), but still no creativity in midfield, and toothless up front today.
BTW, did you see Aguero sling his arm around Sian’s neck? Would he have done that if she was a man? Absolute disgrace.
Whether right or wrong, VAR doesn’t look at or overturn a refs decision when the incident was so obvious and there could be no question that the ref saw the incident clearly.
Although, I do think Pickford was lucky not to get sent off.

Yes agree Aguero was very lucky and a precedent should be set retrospectively if the FA are serious about using female officials.
Yes Citeh where dull and Arsenal missed a chance I thought Mikel was slightly negative and Willian looked a bit lost through the middle.

A crowd today would definitely have made a difference. Don’t recall such a passive 90 minutes from any Celtic team vs Rangers. Even the ref had It easy.
