Football Season 2020 - 2021

Happy for Bobby Firmino, he could of had a hat trick tonight, excellent header.

Funny you can have a toenail beyond your opponent for offside, yet when a ball is 99% over a thick white line which is probably in the region of 3cm wide, it’s no goal…inconsistent.

I think they need to reduce the thickness of the white line so that a proper measurement can be made, the goal line should be laser thick to bring it in line with the ludicrous finite details they are supposed to be applying to the offside measurements. This would be very easy.

Disappointed with Leicester, they should have started on the front foot, playing their attacking game to test the Liverpool defence and a makeshift midfield, they missed a trick today.

I think it’s been well established by now that having a lot of possession but not out scoring the opposition is not “outplaying” them. It’s also well-established that City are now creating a ludicrous amount of chances but have no finisher.

I think Arsenal are generally travelling in the right direction. However, very few teams are going to score nil against Leeds this season.

Put it this way, in playing football terms, Man City were dominant as a team over 90 mins. If the score were nil, nil, I am pretty certain every observer would say Man City deserved to win, despite not scoring.

It’s well established by now that simply scoring more goals than the other team does not indicate how the state of the game was played. So I maintain that Tottenham were ‘outplayed’ for most of the game despite Man City not scoring and despite losing.

Regarding the Arsenal game, I think they were generally poor today, but were in fact better once they went down to 10 men and probably deserved a point overall.

Personally I couldn’t think of a worse combination to win the league Spurs managed by Jose, I thought it was bad enough when Liverpool won we will never ever hear the last of it and where have all these Spurs supporters sprung up from?

Your not the romantic football type then Bob?

Actually, I was way off. The official width of the white line is 4 inches, that’s 10.16 cm in proper measurements. VAR should be ashamed of itself for being so crudely inexact.

I sincerely hope so! There’s a lot going on at the moment and sad to see, as an Arsenal fan. I’m expecting a lot of downs before I see better days but accept this will be the case.

Seems like we’ve gone 10 steps back since winning a few bits of silverware last season.

Only few weeks ago Arsenal was much higher in the Premier League, now its changed considerably; I am not complaining…! :innocent:

Are you a Spurs fan :joy:

We are just at the beginning of a long term project and in Mikel Arteta we have one of the best up and coming managers in European football but my main fear and problems are with the Kroenke family it’s no coincidence that since they finally got control of our club we’ve gone from 20+ years of CL football to 3 without.

Pleased to see Norwich are top of the championship and hopefully on their way back to the premiership.
If we are successful I hope Delia finds more than £750,000 for new players.

Definitely. It’s a time for patience and support. I don’t think there’s a fast track way back so am being philosophical about the whole thing. I’ve always liked Mikel so fingers crossed.

I fear you’re right about the owners. Not sure what can be done about that. The way Ozil situation has been managed was disappointing and feel that it’s upset the dressing room (although could be way off the mark).

And a manager who can construct a defence perhaps?

In fairness to Farke we aren’t giving much away this year. Unfortunately it does not produce the same level of entertainment we achieved two seasons ago.
My fear is that bigger teams will come in for Farke as he is brilliant at bringing young players through.

I’ve always liked seeing Norwich in the Prem so hope you manage to get promoted and receive the backing you need to stay up.

The number of seasons you’ve been promoted says a lot about the club but appreciate it often comes down to finance.

Conceding only 8 goals in 12 games doesn’t suggest to me that Norwich have a problem with defence.
