Great point for The Eagles this evening from a dismal Man U
Great performance from City demonstrating they are without doubt the best team in the championship.
I wonder how much longer we’ll be able to hold onto Buendia and Aarons.
I don’t think we’ll get Skipp on loan next year as he’ll walk into Spurs current team.
indeed, it looks like you have a consistent run of form which should provide enough confidence and momentum to finish the season out: everyone else (especially Brentford) don’t have this consistency. I do not expect my Luton side to complete the double when the sides meet this weekend and if we can keep the score under 4 we will have done well
I felt for Fulham this evening. They didn’t deserve to lose against a workman-like Spurs. Fulham showed a lot of quality and heart in the second half and will feel hard done by when their ‘equaliser’ was ruled out by VAR. Can’t blame the officials. They were simply applying the rules. But the ‘rule’ that determines that was a handball by the forward when the ball was belted against him from a few feet by a defender, hitting him side-on (so if his arm wasn’t in the way his body would have been) and deflecting into the path of his team mate, well, I can only conclude that those making the rule have never played the game. Bonkers.
Liverpool working hard but not getting the results because they are not scoring goals. I think this season could be a right off, even for top 4.
Based on the current handball regulations, I can’t see how the ref did not penalise Kante for handball.
It’s very, very difficult to retain a Premier League title which is why only three teams have done so.
At the moment it is looking like Liverpool or Spurs for the “coveted” Europa Conference League competition.
Liverpool’s issue is partly the fundamental difficulty of retaking the title anyway. It’s also the style of play triggering injuries in a season where the relentlessness of the fixture list is killing all those teams who have some of that intensity. See Sheffield United, Southampton et al. Sure the Van Dyke injury was not related so that’s a big detail but the other injuries were of a kind.
However, it’s also a function of one small detail when Klopp fell out with his number two who subsequently quietly left. Liverpool went onto great things given the momentum but once that subsided we now have Clough without Taylor. They’ve not played consistently well for more than a year and that’s nothing to do with a pandemic or the fixture list or the difficulty of retaining the title. The loss of his number two will down the line be seen as the biggest single issue.
I’m no City fan but Pep’s tweaking of City to ease off the press at key moments and in key parts of the pitch has been one of the great tactical master strokes of recent times. I’m not even convinced it will be effective or even be there as a tactic beyond this season but as a one off it has inarguably been brilliant.
I would say that Luton are our bogey team so I’m a bit wary. Goes back to 1959!
I think you surely mean “Luon”. They can’t pronounce the t.
Will Klopp be in charge next season? I suspect he’ll walk away (possibly after a gentle nudge) at the end of the season.
I suspect he could still pick and choose his next job at the end of this season and leave Anfield a legend forever.
If he stays, he risks destroying his reputation. The Germany job seems a possibility.
Neil Lennon’s available. They’re not getting Stevie G.
I think Rangers to Liverpool is a bit too much of a leap just yet.
I see Neil Warnock has committed to Boro’ for another year … shame really, Liverpool.
I hope he stays at Liverpool as it’ll stop them coming after Farke!
True, that’s a long way down!
Steven Gerrard and Rangers are made for one another in my opinion.
Liverpool has a relatively easy schedule for the balance of the campaign. They will be ok for top 4 but after Leipzig, CL progress will be challenging. Klopp will see out his contract.
