Fraim rear leg - new narrow option

Unless I’m mistaken the narrow leg appears to have been released one year after the NC250 one would think the release date would be the same for both.

I think the way North America is being run these days, may be better off trying to order from the UK in spite of the shipping cost. Depends on how many you need, probably. This does seem like a product that doesn’t need strict adherence to the normal channels. I need a couple of these myself here in the USA.

I’m sure someone forgot and work started bit too late. The ID with it’s sockets must have been available many years back during dev.

I’m not in a hurry to get any. I’ll ask my dealer to try again in few weeks.

Oh, in for a penny, in for a hundred………ordered 5 and bugger it

It doesn’t matter that they are only available in the standard height, as all the NC boxes will fit on standard height shelves.

Yes. Just fitted mine

My dealer fitted these to mine. Called Neutrik Rght Angle XLR Plug.

Easy swap, undo them, fit new one on, job done. The innards are same, it’s just the casing that’s changed. Wasn’t that expensive if I recall.

Thanks DG, I couldn’t face trying to photo mine at the bottom of a stack…but you can chuckle at that, now that you have gone one box. Hope you are enjoying the change.
My plug is a different color, hope it doesn’t impact on the sound!

Yes, enjoying the change very much, thanks.

Think that we may have to open a new thread on whether colour impacts the sound.

Hi DG
I remember many years ago probably in belt times “ those of a certain age will get it “
There was a hi fi magazine article I remember them talking about casework for boxes and they showed a black box next to a white box and it was rainbow coloured on top with the slogan if it’s White it’s Right.
We’re doomed. :scream: :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

As OP, fine if it stays here!
However, @Skeptikal indirectly reminded me, iirc there has never been a thread on the question of what Fraim shelf colour(s) sound best, with which of the two leg colours. Glass side up / down and forward / back for box positioning and of course location have all been done.
There must be what eight different colourways for Fraim? That would be a very interesting thread - to avoid…black and white posts only!
Best I get my hard hat!

Try Cymbiosis

Who’s in the UK. I’m in the U.S. and can wait until my dealer and Naim America sort it out.

I bought a Superline Z-Plug from @Cymbiosis a few years ago, and Peter did a great job, but the wait once shipped into the U.S. with customs clearance, etc was painful. Not worth it for just these Fraim legs.

Interesting. I have always received things quick from them and I’m in the US as well. Hopefully it won’t be a long wait

U.S. Customs is a mixed bag. Things can go through in a day, or they can get stuck in clearing for weeks. It’s a crap shoot really. When Peter sent me my Z-Plug for the Superline it sat in Chicago for weeks. U.S. Customs and Border Protection can sit on a package for up to 45 business days to process anything without reason for delay.

Yes I certainly did and indeed I sorted out the problem with Linn Products Ltd using straight XLR connectors fouling on the rear spacer back in 2010, as I had to seek formal approval for the upgrade/modification BTW, it’s only really needed for the Akurate casework as the Klimax will actually fit on the shelf without fowling the rear leg with the cabling.
No soldering required you just replace the body and here’s a picture with all the information you need to go to RS components to buy the necessary parts. The one for the motor is the female and the one for the Urika If you were using one is the male plug.
