I don’t know what the firmware is. If it’s earlier than 3.8, I wonder if it’s possible to upgrade it to 3.8 and no further.
I now have the perfect excuse not to sell the PS. Given the history it would be criminal to unpair them.

Super Lumina was developed for Statement and Hiline for 500 Series. Of course people will use them on lesser equipment too - probably because because they won’t get told off like they do when they blow thousands on a new box

It’s certainly an option, but not ideal aesthetically. I also have kids and cats that like to fiddle with anything they can get their hands or claws on!

By the way, having said how great my system was sounding last night I noticed that one of the tweeters on my 606 is silent. Cloth ears!
I tried swapping channels and cables and it’s definitely the speaker. Must be a fried tweeter or crossover. I’ve mentioned before that on the other speaker it can sound a bit flappy at very high volume, so I think that’s another unit that needs replacing after I had to get a driver replaced last year when my cat stuck its claws in it. I might just get all four units replaced and be a lot more careful with the volume pot in future. So I’ll be boxing up the 606’s and taking them for some dealer TLC.
I do have some ATC SCM 11’s that could deputise in the meantime.

Having a tweeter out on a speaker and not noticing it straight away, you must really be in honeymoon period lol.

I’m not sure if it’s a possible cause of the dead tweeter, but it might be worth turning the amplifier off and unplugging at the speaker end, then removing and reinserting the jumpers a few times to ensure the crossovers are properly connected. Then plug in, power up and listen. I expect you’ve already done it, but it’s just a thought.
Even if it’s earlier than 3.8 … keep it! I am jealous…

Now it’s not the same comparison I had anymore - mine was 3.11 against nds. 3.8 against nds is a different ballgame.

Thanks! I read enough of the update thread to leave it well alone, even if I do miss out on TIDAL Max and other things. Is it easy to inadvertently update it? I’m scared to connect it to the network
