One tweeter is not working and he stated his system sounded better than it ever has. It seems worrying about an additional power supply on the ND555 might be a waste of money if a non working tweeter can’t even be heard. The psychological impact this forum has on people is insane. It’s probably made Naim more money than anything else.

Maybe the safest thing would be to just not listen and update it straight away

That’s what I did with my NSS333. I went all in and I’m super happy with its performance. Have no idea what I missed out (if anything). This is not me saying you should though 
Looking forward to the next update. I’ll install it the same second it arrives.

Keep it till the next fw is out and see what Drago, Cohen and Darkbear says about it. Then decide how to proceed I see very few complaints these days though..

It’s annoying that I can’t just hook it up to my system given the speaker situation. So I can’t really make any fair comparisons for the time being. Nothing will happen tonight anyway because my daughter and her friend have just hijacked the living room!

It’s an interesting thread l. I’m not sure if I understand it correctly. Stu bought it on eBay, picked it up from HQ, found that it is still on 3.8, doesn’t want to betray confidences about something then shortly after getting it home up and running blew a tweeter.

With me sleeping… yes bite my ass as I heard it. Too much SL listening here… But collection only? In the end that is too much - even for me. I will win someday - with 3.12, 13…. or whatsoever. Or with nd555 on 3.9 - the magic hidden FW no one else is able to get

It’s only an update symbol on the Home Screen (app and unit), so easy to ignore. I’m getting on fine with the current firmware, but I suggest you wait for the next update and follow feedback before updating.

I collected the new (to me) boxes today. Maybe the NDS was the culprit, knowing he was on borrowed time

That is sad - but it can be repaired. An nd555 with (for me) bad FW can not! In the end your cup is more than half full!
But I really feel for you with the tweeter … that’s bad luck
