I find myself hoping to see the ‘firmware update is available’ every day, but I have no clue why 
I have no idea what is coming in a new release. I do not think it is going to be a minor 3.12 release, but something bigger. Naim is taking it’s time to finish it. Maybe for the better.

Do we even know that Naim are working on a 3.12 firmware? It takes alot of time, resources and funds to put into new firmware. And Naim are not making a profit these days!
Be happy with what you have! 3.11 is alright.

Has there been any back to back comparisons of 3.8 v 3.10, 3.8 v 3.11 etc? I don’t recall reading about any. It would be good if a dealer were to host such an event, although I can understand why they might not feel it’s in their interests to do so.

Beta testers mentioned that they were testing a new release, but that is some time ago. To be honest, I am pretty happy with 3.11. So, I do not really know why I am looking forward to a new release
If I remember correctly, the updated unit of @Cohen1263 was compared with a 3.8 unit during a factory visit.

As this is an open forum - whom are you to lecture me!
There is no open fw thread anymore and I already mentioned that I won’t start the 3.12 one.
Suggestion: put me on ignore - will do the same.
And, at least there are a few left who appreciate the discussion on the sound signature of the fw (which is currently not happening).

Keep them both… the ND555 awaits. NDS still good for now!
Nothing to loose. And I would say ND555 has gone up in value. NDS has gone up.

A bunch of us tried different solutions to deal with 3.8 blues. I went down room treatment route and tried alot of other things also.
The NDS is doing it’s job for you! So all is good. And of course you want your ND555 working right. Have you tried finding an ND555 with 3.8 firmware?

Yes - I have. I am still looking nearly everyday to find one. But (except one who had claimed to be 3.8 and was 3.11 in the end) I have not found one. With time passing it gets more rare.

Do we think that the delay on 3.12 is due to Naim incorporating new functionality for an additional streaming service?

That is what I think: Amazon, Apple, Presto? No idea really.

The issue will be fulfilling their contracts with other companies and not necessarily improving sound quality.
3.10 was implementation of obligations in this way. 3.11 came out 6 months or so later to deal with the fallout of poor firmware sound quality IMHO.

Surely Naim must have 3.8 could they not keep those settings and transfer across any other tweaks…that have brought us to 12???
Not that easy Richieroo. I think it’s been discussed many times. The bit that made the FW degrade is out of Naim’s control to a large degree. All they can do is put fixes around it.
