Furutech Discussion

Yes, they’ll all need to run in, but all will run in at the same time if you have devices plugged into each outlet. ~400hrs is probably a good approx if the device has decent current draw (ie if you just have a DAC plugged into one outlet it will take longer).

For sure, a nice looking/well built piece of kit. Nothing about the wiremold is “audiophile grade”, it’s just an industrial power bar.

Side question, what powerbar/outlets where you previously using?

During the 25 years I had my Naim system I followed the standard path most US Naimees subscribed to. Back in the early 2000’s the Wiremold block was the only thing available. After that Chis Koster worked with Ted Paisley at Cable Pro in Texas to custom build higher spec blocks for Naim users. I then moved to one of those. Due to inconsistency in manufacturing, a number of us had problems and CK then started dialogue with Audience in California. Thus was born the Chris Koster Audience PDC.

Fast forward and I then started playing with isolation transformers and ended up with a Torus RM20. Of course it goes without saying I have a dedicated 20A line run into the dedicated listening room.

Now move to last year when I left Naim and moved to DarTZeel. My Stenheim speaker dealer suggested bypassing the Torus for my amplifier (even though he also happens to be a Torus dealer) and suggested I try plugging directly into the wall. At that time I had an AV Options Cryo’d Hubbell duplex on the wall. Net result - the amplifier was better direct into the wall. As for the DarTZeel preamplifier - fortunate as it is battery powered and does not get polluted from the Mains.

Over the summer the Hubbell was replaced with a GTX-D R, then replaced with a GTX-D Gold. The idea is to keep the amplifier into the wall, the preamp uses its batteries, and the dCS Rossini and Clock will go into the Furutech.

Siltech power cables run between the dCS and Furutech GTO, Siltech between the amplifier and wall, and too be determined Siltech or Furutech DPS4.1 w/ FI-50 NCF R ends between the wall and Furutech GTO block. I was not a fan of the DPS4.1 between the wall and DarTZeel amplifier - having tried it out with both the Rhodium and Gold GTX-D’s.

As for GTO break in - lots of luck. I know some connect refrigerators or air conditioners however not possible here. I will connect some headphone amplifiers, extremely low current draw, and figure one solid month at 24/7.

Even the dCS Rossini only draws 23 watts when operational.
