This is a long time favorite of mine;
I would happily plop this cd into the jazz thread.
Ian is able to use his voice in a manner similar to Mark Murphy and produces lines that many instrumentalists hope to emulate.
Supporting trio that accompany his Ronnie Scott appearances are well up to the mark. Streamable but I like it so much I bought the cd. I like cds.

Thanks!
And long live BandCamp; Ian Shaw BandCamp
I got the Carmen Gomes CD’s there as well. Carmen Gomes BandCamp
and in my opinion his best sounding.
Her first album had a bunch of jazz musicians;
-
Rickie Lee Jones – vocals, keyboards, percussion, guitar, backing vocals, horn arrangements
-
Victor Feldman – percussion, drums, keyboards
-
Tom Scott – horns
-
Red Callender – bass
-
[Buzz Feiten – guitar
-
[Chuck Findley – horns
-
[Steve Gadd) – drums
-
Jeff Porcaro – drums
-
Ernie Watts – horns
A cd of lyrics by Fran Landesmen. Most unknown.
Fran’s collaborator and Sarah’s husband Simon Wallace is the pianist.
Accompaniment is by British jazz luminaries.

And the album got a great review here; https://www.theguardian.com/music/2021/mar/27/sarah-moule-stormy-emotions-review-songs-by-fran-landesman-and-simon-wallace
Words given to many of your favourite jazz tunes.
Very clever.
Fine singing and super accompaniment.
Robin is a very underrated musician… well they all are.
N
Indeed. It must be difficult these days for the younger generation of musicians. Critics all ways compare with the greats of the past.
All new songs. I like Georgia’s contralto and Alan Broadbent is magical in this setting.
Available to stream but it needs a HD source.

I can’t get « Mr Holland » out of my head. The voice of this guy is terrific.
Yes and I really prefer the audio of the first album. The later albums are more produced.
A dream come true would be Gregory Porter making a ONE MIC Type album with his live band;
His voice don’t need all that polishing.
Thanks for this! I’m a Bill Withers fan and this album is a wonderful collection.
New Patricia Barber album ;
Thanks for the heads up and I see ti will be released on August 6th!
Julia Fordham - China Blue
Pretty much any of Julia’s albums display a jazzy element, but for this album she set out specifically to make a jazz record, even recruiting old jazz hands for her band. I particularly like her albums ‘Falling Forward’ and ‘That’s Live’.
This new recording popped up on Qobuz.
Samara Joy . Would it be rude to call her a wonderful new old fashioned jazz singer.
The guitar accompaniment by Pasquale Grasso is pretty sensational.
Nice surprise.
N
Qobuz have a reminder of the talent of Chris Connor.
I hadn’t heard Classic or New Again.
She grew into quite a handsome woman. Am I allowed to say that?
