So, what would be the most expensive single room hifi setup - to include CD, Turntable, Radio tuner as well as the standard streaming devices? Speakers to be added later.
(This is a hypothetical case! Just wondering… )

It would be a staggeringly ridiculous amount, for mega show-offs and/or millionares only…
I agree. It’s also a fairly pointless discussion.
Nah, it’s only harmless wondering!
People really into gear may find it interesting. That’s just not me…too rich and I suspect ostentatious for one…
Exactly. Why would you want cd and radio if you have streaming services ? ( local and internet based.
A customer could go to Naim and ask for them to design a 1-off hi-fi requiring a year of R&D.
I imagine that would come with a £1M+ price tag
Well, let’s say it’s only for the seriously rich (excluding millionaires & lotto winners)
It’s just a bit of fun. If you like, nominate the cheapest hifi set-up?!
“I want it all, and I want it now”
It may not be the most expensive; but I did notice singularity audio are selling a pre loved full Statement System for £145k. Feels too good to be true!!!
What is standard?
BTW, unlike some, including the old Naim one, there is no scoring system on this forum for how many threads you create…
Should we include the design and build cost of the room itself, HVAC, power transformers and so on?
Just wondering how far ‘money no object’ goes…
If you are talking cost no object then I am sure you could commission one or more companies to design and build you a prototype-style system that is totally focused on performance and ignores cost factors. So possibly it would end up costing 10 million or more with the room being specially built.
Using the currently available very high-end components for sale now, I would guess you could probably spend 2 to 3 million pounds.
Suppose the limit is how much dosh you have & your other priorities and commitments…
Cheaper than a yacht, then!
What? A yacht with a stereo?
Quite a few years back I went to a demonstration of a Vertere RG TT/arm, Statement amps, Magicos (forget which), I know even then it topped at nearly £.5m, it was mind blowingly good😎
For me, being a Naim fan, I would ‘just’ go with a full statement, ND555, double 555PS DR, Fraim, Powerlines, Chord Music interconnects and speaker cables and Focal Grande Utopia EVOs but in a really outlandish colour for the sheer sake of it!!!
ps. and build a purpose built extension as a huge listening room with a bar, cinema screen, comfy sofa and arm chairs and a few classic arcade machines I would never use.
Because a FM tuner like Naim NAT01 or Tandberg 3001A beats any streamer when it comes to musicality.
