How do I connect Bravia/SN3?

Right, nailed it. I updated the tv software which interestingly gave me a new option called ‘Digital audio out volume’ which I didn’t have before so I turned that up to max. I also did a hard reboot of the NDX2 as suggested and now it works. I also reattached the DVD player to the NDX2 and sound came through that as well (bit odd, could hear the opening sequence of 20th Century but then the sound started ‘chattering’ but no bother) so I reckon it was the hard reboot that did the trick.

Hey Spleen, thanks for the tip. Just replying to this to highlight to others with a Sony Bravia and HDMI Arc set-up that the “Digital Audio Out Volume” is at default zero. Absolutely maddening, I was up on this forum till 3am having finally figured out I need to swap to PCM and not bitstream and then was stuck with absolute silence rather than the horrible noise that comes from 5.1 bitstream. If someone else is reading this with a Sony Bravia and HDMI set-up you have to:

1. Swap to PCM
2. Have Digital Audio Out at something other than zero
