Luxman are not far off. Current design of one of their integrates. Just something soo comforting about the design. Of course I’ve never heard a thing they’ve made.
Would have to be olive on phased mana. With a nice set of black Sl2 speakers hanging out of it, now we are talking sexy
Not my picture, but I love the styling of the Armstrong 621 amplifier. I purchased one in the late 70s but it had a fault and foolishly I took it back to the shop and purchased a Technics amp instead.
Yep - they did look lovely. A friends Dad had one, with the requisite SP25 and Celestion Ditton 15XR speakers.
Like so many here, the A60 was the first bit of hifi I bought with my own money. And it’s simply an icon of elegant British design. I drove Bose 901s with it fed by a Sony d121 Discman. The mullet of mullets. But it did great.
I must still have it tucked away in my mum’s loft back in the UK.
Hart Audio.
Continuing the theme of very expensive hifi that looks bonkers, but may well sound sublime.
looks like it was designed by an 8 year old girl imagining what a speaker would look like in a mermaids parlour and made by an A level art student.
Ugh! The height adjustment looks useful though.
At first I thought that was the prize in a golden gloves fight
Probably packs a punch. Might have issues with imaging with either the left or right being stronger than the other.
Even the newer luxman with meters and tone controls look good. If I’d known about them and could have heard them, I’d have definitely looked into them. Now the box count is too high to change
Frenchrooster,…I have heard these, impressive…BUT,…not for ordinary rooms
.
You’ll probably must live in a castle.

If I had the right room …
Lovely. Very similar to the one my father bought in the early seventies. It’s still in use in the “family home” under the care of my bruv!
The Armstrong’s were prone to failure. A friend of mine got one. He didn’t keep it long because when I heard it I wasn’t impressed and then I took my A&R A60 over to his place and it trounced the Armstrong. He took that Armstrong back and bought an A60.
Well, I have heard this carefully, and it does sound really good.
