How it looks / not how it sounds

And yet, I bet the Technics had no fault…

Whose brother had a pair of N-Sats whose tweeters she took off and used in her design. Or were them from a Sonus Faber?

i posted more for fun…i would never buy something like this, even if i had very deep pockets…

Of course not! It worked perfectly for many years until I purchased a Naim Nait. I found this picture on line of the amp, a Technics su7300. It performed just fine, but the Armstrong looked so much nicer.

Bizarre. I made a couple mentions of Luxman and now find that, like Naim, they are officially affiliated with Focal here in Japan.

This reminds me of a previous thread in the old place which transcended into the Technics appreciation society, in which I include my self. :0)

Neat isnt it.

Just wanted to thank everyone who has participated.I’m getting alot different replies than I expected. I thought it would be more from different time periods, and more “systems” I.E. an ear pre into a vac amp… etc. Anyhow enjoying it, but who knew their were so many truly ugly turntables. Speakers understandably so, as many are from the school of size matters. Some really nice and unknown pieces showing up.

Massive Jeff Rowland Amp..

impressive system. Specially jeff rowland. Not so much for Dynaudio speakers…

Jeff Rowland Power Supply are much bigger than PS555DR. But uncertain for quality of PS

Good job they have encapsulated heatsinks. You would be shredding ankles every time you turned the record over.

spec mg1000, integrated and power amp.

I read the review on Highfidelity Poland. It’s a class D amp, but the sound, for the reviewer, is particularly natural, tube like ongaku integrated, spacious and with very good bass. Not typical for class D… ( around 14k)

They remind me of the Moth 30 pre-amp + pair of mono amps I used to have. Can’t find a decent pic at the mo though.

the most expensive, powerful power amp. 6X 20000 watt. >2 meters high. 1,5 millions euros.
What for ? Who needs that? 120 times more powerful than the statement. You can buy 12 naim statement amps with that money.

It looks like a blinged up Cray X-MP supercomputer from the 1980s.

Edited to note that supercompter is a relative term, my 2 year old mobile phone has 30 times as much RAM and a theoretical CPU power about 100 times higher than the 2 cores of the Cray.
