I would like a Naim App that i) does not sometimes put albums or playlists in alphabetical order, instead of the order I or the artists intended; ii) does not sometimes enable shuffle for no apparent reason; iii) has a facility for disabling shuffle, or at least has an icon for ‘shuffle on’ that is distinct from ‘shuffle off’; iv) that controls ripping CDs without resorting to n-Serve; and v) will make playlists without resorting to n-Serve.
If I have to continue with n-Serve I would like it to access metadata as it used to, and to have a facility for adding fields when editing metadata.
It is the new version I just downloaded and they messed up the UI. This is how it looked before. It’s almost impossible to not hit all three buttons when you want to press one button now.
But I do concur the buttons are a bit close together.
Also on the Other Settings → Volume Control you have the old style radio buttons and on the Other Settings → Lighting you have three buttons and you slide one of them, it’s just not consistent.
Interesting. I had v6.6.1 on my iPhone and I assumed I would get a notification that a new version was available but… nothing. Went to the app store and, sure enough, v7.0 was there.
I like change, in the main, but when change introduces pointless steps that irritates me. Industry standard 3 vertical dots top right leads to settings. Now it opens a box saying “settings” which you have to tap on. Pointless and irritating.
And appearance is now dark or light. Why? I liked the options (and markedly dislike the light option)
Ah well, I’ll get used to it as I kinda have to … but the volume buttons are a tad small for my sausages.
We have raised the issue of the size of the volume buttons in beta testing. Hopefully they will get bigger, as they are really small and there is space available.
I always seem to hit the ‘make favorite’ button when I’m trying to toggle the mute on my iphone. Not usually an issue except it changes the order of my presets when I reset the station as a favorite.
More space or relocating that button would be appreciated as well.
If you can run Bubble UPnP somewhere on your network, you can make Naim streamers OpenHome compatible and then use the Linn app to control them. It’s what I do with my Atom and Muso QB.
