Yeah I know. That’s what I said. Just used less words.
Anyway…..

If it didn’t adapt, it would not survive. The environment is not adapting it (it is not making any changes to the genome) - it is providing conditions to which the species must adapt or die out.
Whatever, I think Attenborough has a pretty good grasp of how evolution happens.
That’s not an adaptation. It’s a series of random mutations, one or some of which the environment accepts because it fits.
The environment accepts? What? The environment neither accepts nor rejects. A series of random mutations is what makes a species adapted to the environment. They make the species a better fit for the environment.
Correct. There are no conscious decisions being made, hence the use of the word “natural”.
Well, yes. Duh!
Don’t forget, of course, that sometimes species change the environment to better fit the specie’s needs.

Saw something about queues in Japan and elsewhere.
Looks a bit fugly to me or does it have some hidden appeal?
Agreed, I was intrigued by this latest Swatch effort the other day and looked it up. “Wha…?” I said to myself.
Is some ways perhaps it’s nice that there’s still healthy interest in conventional time pieces.
At the ‘gym’ the other day and went to the steam room - they’d changed the old analogue clock to a digital one, a cheap attempt at modernisation but an instant fail.
The viewing angle of the display is atrocious as it can’t be read until you walk a certain distance away from it!
I suspect much of this initial interest was from career flippers hoping to make a quick profit…
Absolutely - one guy bought one for $400 and sold immediately for $2000. But it’s still a Swatch ….
Crazy, crazy, crazy…just like some of these things you see about fancy daps.
The range went on sale Saturday - glad I wasn’t working (work is opposite the Swatch store in Oxford St). There was a packed tent village in Dering Street for four days prior, and a camping-seat enclave by Bond St station exit in Hanover Square round the corner. Madness for plastic junk.
I’m really surprised that a firm of AP’s pedigree would put their name anywhere near these fugly things. They look like tat.
My kids had and have the Swatch kids models and they are all but junk. I’ve been a couple times back to a Swatch store with broken wristband or empty battery and they were fixed on the spot with no questions asked.
Probably Swatch buying them all back on eBay….
Cheapest bit of marketing they ever did…. A few grand buying a couple back, a few grand more funding a few influencers to spread the world and there you have it - panic buying!
You gotta laugh, very clever and the emperor is stark naked ![]()

Tony
But it’s horrible. And pointless.
Seems the launch was re-held this morning with increased security, no tents or camping chairs but Dering St again packed, hard to push through em to get to work. Not impressed, nor impressive on Swatch’s part. Complete f-up.
And the watches in question still look bloody awful. Guess an 8 or 10 yr old might be impressed by them.
The horror…
