TT races cancelled after rider dies and two-year-old flown to hospital

If riders want to continue to risk themselves, I guess that’s up to them. Still mightily scary. Figure they need to review spectator places though…

That said, clearly the bikes are now so much more powerful that racing through the residential parts of the course could be called into question?

Young kids shouldn’t be in a spectator area IMHO. The IOM are really good at improving safety so I would be expecting them to take this very seriously.

I’ve read estimates that the TT races are worth at least £39 million a year to the IOM economy. I guess that the event will continue as long as that lasts.

Elsewhere voting has started on the wildlife for the new notes , I voted for puffins, hares , hedgehogs

Not sure if I can show the link but I guess typing in Bank Of England notes survey should find it

I did that this morning. Barn Owls and Bumblebees amongst others. I think you are allowed to vote for 6.

There is an optional survey at the end. The Bank of England wanted to know my sexual orientation and my gender, of which there were a few choices. God knows why they want this info.

I remember being asked for my ethnicity , I replied Klingon.

This is on our local news website. A new sign on the M5 quite near us. FFS. We all know that Americans have difficulty with the pronunciation and spelling of it, but come on!!!

Loved hearing about and reading this story today of Britain’s wooliest sheep, a Lincoln Longwool named Lottie, having her 64 foot square fleece sheered off; it tipped the scales at 7.6kg. The best bit was her nickname - “Woolly Lammoth” - Brilliant!

Some papers have the story of a farmer reported to the RSPCA as his sheepdog Tilly was considered to be ‘bothering’ sheep.

The world’s gone mad.

Yes, I heard about that. From what I gather the farmer and his sheepdog Tilly were trying to round up his sheep that had escaped out of the yard into the lane. A car rounded a bend so the farmer called it to stop so the sheep could be rounded up and afterwards the driver went on his way. As far as the farmer could tell that was the only car and witness to the incident so it was fairly likely that it was the car driver who reported him to the RSPCA, which is just bizarre as they must have known that he was a shepherd and the dog was his sheepdog.

I used to have a dog who liked to worry sheep.

He would run around shouting Mint Sauce, Mint Sauce.

I was hoping it was someone who hadn’t realised it was a farmer with a sheepdog but if they thought it was a random dog walker not keeping the animal under control how would they have known who to report to the RSPCA?

Despite occasional reports of overzealous RSPCA activity I think we have to be thankful that they exist and for the most part do good and investigate issues raised with them.

So, any UK shareholders in Scottish Mortgage, who retained their valuation of their SpaceX stock at $90 (which worked out about 20% of fund value) have just made about 19% profit on their Scot Mtg holdings this afternoon, on top of the 2% in today’s trade. Which is nice.

I now know what the X in SpaceX stands for! Pretty obvious I suppose, had just never thought about it before. I wonder if @Count.d has enjoyed today.

Well when I last posted a hint in December, Scot Mtg price was 1134, today it’s 1450 (without the SpaceX spike as UK markets closed before SpaceX started trading) so, if nothing happens before 9:00 pm tonight, I suspect the Scot Mtg price will look quite handy on Monday. Not bad for a 6 months wait, if anyone took that nod of course…
