I’m looking for some ideas regarding a reasonably good interconnect from my Rega Aria phono stage to my Uniti Nova. I’ve recently done various upgrades to my LP12 and invested in the Nova and Rega so now turning my attention to cabling. Following advice in this forum I have ordered a used Powerline for the Nova and a used Powerline Lite to connect the Linn Lingo 4 to the wall (well the Russ Andrews block; the Naim goes straight to the wall). And the wall is a dedicated mains supply from a dedicated consumer unit. So the cheap interconnect has to go now. Any advice is appreciated.

And digital Parsec for CD and Core.

@markjord I started out with Shawline if that helps. With Chord, as you go up the cost ladder, it gets discerningly better. I could have lived with Shawline or EpicX. For me, cost was not the determining factor. SQ was. A lot had to do with my having a 300 system.
@markjord What termination are you wanting! DIN? Another member suggested Cardas. Does Cardas have a DIN option? I use Cardas as my headphone cable for my Utopia and like it.
I’m a big fan of Nordost cables, so I would recommend interconnects like the Blue Heaven or Red Dawn to start with. If price isn’t a concern, the Frey 2 is the best I’ve tried.
Generally speaking Nordost cables have punchy and textured bass, are very fast, have a great soundstage and control resonance pretty well. The upper you go, the better these things get.
It basically depends if it’s the character you look for, as always it’s a matter of personal taste. However I’d suggest you to have a listen.
Naim’s own RCA to Din cable is very good. It costs about £130. I used it between an Aria and Supernait 3 and was really happy with it. Alternatively, try the Rega Couple RCA to RCA. There is no need to spend loads.
I recently swapped out my Morgana and Koltura interconnects in favor of Mogami 2549, it just sounds right in a way that’s hard to put into words, and the boutique stuff simply cannot match.
Lots of interesting ideas. Thanks guys. At present I’m leaning towards starting with something like the Chord Clearway or the Rega one at £100 and see if I notice a difference from the basic thing that’s on there.
I have an Audioquest Sydney between my Aria and Atom HE. Not in the class of de Epic X, but I can tell you that it gives equal to better sound from my P8/Aria to my HE than the native streaming board.
We have spoken before about record brushes, speaker terminals and interconnects such as RCA to RCA. I also ended up buying Mogami 2549 for my Rega Aria to 272. There is a clarity in the details and perhaps also a little more punch in the signal now. Thank you for the advice.
Now I have a new question. Do you have any experience with DIN to XLR (in my case 272 to 300) as a replacement for Naim cables? Or do you only focus on RCA connections?

Realistically I don’t have much experience with XLR on the hi fi since I had many years ago Linn LK280 powers amps etc.
When it comes to converter or adaptor type cables with Naim equipment I would strongly suggest you stick to their own cables as I’m sure the equipment would be built with that type of wiring in mind.
Naim do use different wiring configurations to other manufacturers basic connectors so I’d stay on the path of caution.
Naim’s basic range of cables would be my only interest.
I would stick with DIN-XLR as thats the Naim standard.
There are technical issues with an RCA-XLR such as noise and hum due to impeadance mismatch, plus potential output stage overload if incorrectly wired.
For a cheapish option I like the Rothwell ‘The River’ 2xRCA to 2xRCA. Performs way better than the way it looks and its price would suggest.
I use it on my Bluesound Node and it’s a fast and neutral cable that outperformed both the Chord Chrysalis and Chord Cobra 2 cables I had lying around.
